    Raytree Stump Grinder

Has anyone used a Raytree stump grinder? Its obviously an import model, looks better made than the regular chinese import attachments though. There are a few for sale at a local equipment yard, priced pretty low from what I saw online.

    Catawba Attachments 60" Grapple

Construction Attachments is based there, those are some of the best grapples you can buy. Not cheap though, mine cost over 8k.

Rotary Cutter Does Direction of Travel Matter?

Dual spindle is the best for clean cut by far, and keeps the deck shorter. Spreads cut material better too. My 10' drawbar bush hog is a great size, good for large areas but still fits in most places

Rotary Cutter Does Direction of Travel Matter?

This is why I like my HX10, dual spindles mean you can mow any way you want and the cut look likes a lawnmower made it

Does anyone who knows anything about this rake have anything to say about it? Not looking for advice on how to repair and sell things

    Hesston Rake Questions

I just bought an old Hesston 3981 rake, 12 wheel with kicker, from a local lot. It's pretty rough and needs some work, but I only paid 250$ for it. I know its the same rake as a H&S BF12, does anyone know where to find parts for either one? Also, does anyone have much experience with this rake...

Grading Tractor and HD Box Blade vs. a small Dozer?

I was looking for a small dozer, ended up finding a Cat D7E for a great price. Way bigger than what I was looking for but it can move a lot of dirt. Not a cheap machine to maintain and impossible to move without a special hauler. Nice thing is I can pull out any truck no matter what.

Bush Hog: Round vs. Oval Stumpjumper

I run a John Deere HX10, it has massive round blade carriers that are about half inch plate. Its a heavy enough cutter I don't bother marking a little stump like that, it would just shred it as it went over it. Bigger things like rocks or old concrete get pulled up with the loader

Will a Stump Bucket damage my FEL?

I wouldn't use it. I bent the loader on my Ford 5610 trying to push into a pile of dirt, tractor loaders are pretty light duty. Now my Bobcat T870 is great for one, it has the massively overbuilt booms and heavy cylinders to dig and pry unlike a loader.

Why 3pt Rotaty (brush) Cutter vs Quick attach on FEL?

My T870 is 23 gpm on regular flow, 36 on high flow, and it has very large oil cooler. Since it rides on treads it can handle a mower weighing 2500 lbs. A tractor isn't made that kind of abuse. Also, a PTO is far more efficient in transmitting power than hydraulics.

Anyone ever had to clear thorny Locust trees?

I push them over with the D7, burn the piles.

Hammer Flail vs Forestry Mulcher vs Brush Hog vs Brush Hog with chains.

look for a Brown Tree Cutter, they are extremely heavy duty bush hogs.

    Brown Tree Saw

I'd hire it done with a big skid steer and cutter. I have a T870 with a Spartan brush cutter, it would chop through them easily at ground level. A disc mulcher would work even better.
