How to mount a posthole digger

I have thought about using the rops and a come-along. But I found a few utube videos and learned a few tricks that worked for me with a little modification. One guy had a simple pair of props that worked well. My auger is a bit heavier than many, but i was able to set it up without too much...

How to mount a posthole digger

I have a rather strange request. I need some ideas for how I can mount a posthole digger on my 3 point. Easy peasy normally. I have always had my digger dangling from a pulley in the rafters. But now I need to haul digger, mower, and tractor to a far-away remote location where there are no...

Big Blue, where did you find those? I like'em. N'er mind. I found 'em. Amazon of course.

Those bolt on tie downs might be just the ticket. I was told by the trailer dealer that 4 chains was the law, but not enforced on the small stuff hauled by civilians.

I was just looking at the weight bar. It's about 1 3/8 square steel. I could loop the chain over that, but it could slide sideways a bit. Thinking about that one some more though. There is a way to do this.

I have at least 2 options. First, drive on forwards and put the bucket over the rail on the tongue. Second drive on backwards with the mower suspended from the FEL. The latter, I am 90% certain will work. Winter Deere. You are certainly right about the need for tiedown loops in the front...

dieselscout, Your rig must be quite a bit longer than my 16 ft long outfit is. I put it on the trailer and discovered that I have more room than I expected. When I want to travel with mower, I may put that under the bucket and lift it into the trailer with the FEL while backing up the ramp...

RjCorazza and WinterDeere, thanks for the tips on the bathroom scale method. I'm ashamed that I did not think of it myself. A little 7th grade geometry and Intro Physics is pretty straight forward. These forums are really a heck of a resource. I can run a chain through a shackle on the...

I don't think a bathroom scale will reach the 500+ lbs I think I need to measure. But as I was looking at what @alexpops suggested, I realized that getting a reading will take a bit of finness. Probably some lumber or maybe a bottle jack.

While I am at this, what do you guys use to tie down your tractors? I have chains and binders. But the trailer dealer suggested straps.

Any idea how much a scale like that costs? Are they easily found? I've never heard of them.

Well, I now have an 18 ft trailer. With 10000# axels, I'm well clear of my total capacity but hardly light with 5000# of payload. I tried balancing the tractor on it, and it seems that with the counterbalance on the back and grapple on the front, I can set it up facing forwards or back...

I googled that and it is what i call anti-sway bars. I have exactly that Reese system on my horse trailer.
