Thinking about getting 4520 or 4720

123- I've used K-seal before and it has worked well. I'm glad to hear it worked in this application too. 80- I'm not sure about the mid and rear at the same time. I just ordered the mid kit for mine, I'll let you know when I get it installed.

Thinking about getting 4520 or 4720

Hey 66, I sent you a pm the other day, just wanted to follow up and see if you received it. Also, I had a couple more questions- have you installed a 3rd function? I have 1 set of rear remotes and am wondering if it can be done. Also, do you know what this shaft is for? It spins freely. Thanks

Thinking about getting 4520 or 4720

That would be great! From what I can tell, the pto kit is still available, the lift bracket kit has become obsolete and will be the challenge to find. I think (not positive) that the 7 Iron deck is the same one used on most of the 3 and 4 series from that era. Those pop up for sale with some...

Thinking about getting 4520 or 4720

Thank you oldtimer66. It was your write up that got me wondering about the prevalence of this issue. I decided the risk and cost was worth it. I purchased an 06 4720 with 410hrs similarly optioned to yours. The thing it is missing that I want to add is the belly mower (possibly 3rd function)...

Thanks for the info. I had the same issue when I had a 955.

Thinking about getting 4520 or 4720

Thanks for the reply. I've used the stop leak stuff with success in other equipment. I was wondering if it would work in this application too. Probably a case-by-case basis.

Thinking about getting 4520 or 4720

Thanks for the info. Those 5r's are nice. Way to big for what I can use. The 4 series is actually larger than I need.

Thinking about getting 4520 or 4720

I'm considering upsizing from my 2038r to a 45/4720. I have read (here) about the timing cover leaking and being a time consuming job to replace. Is this issue widespread? Or just enough to make a few cases? Is there a year Deere started using gaskets instead of sealer? Did it resolve the issue...

    Hello from Maine

Hey all, I've been sniffing around the forum for a while and figured it was time to join. I have a Deere 955 with a lot of attachments. Even though the deere is ideal for what I need. I can't help think that I may enjoy some more grunt.
