You Know You Are Old When

xI have been a travel nurse since 2010 working primarily Alaska and the Western United States. Working Phoenix one year I had a AHA and OH moment. Much of western Canada goes to the Phoenix area for the winter. There is oil there, money and they do not see any reason to stay frozen for the long...

    Flail mower hydraulic

Has anyone used the front end loader hydraulic connections to run the offset flail mower? I would need another 4 feet of line and a 180 degree redirect to do it. Support the lines in a way they do not get damaged is a concern too. I have 1 outlet on the rear of the tractor now. Offset flail...

Do You Have a Tractor Shed/Barn?

I am finishing a SteelMaster Quonset. They said I was out of warrant so a missing piece was going to be another $126. I bent one myself to finish the job. The sent plenty of bolts. Seem knowledgeable, however the price they wanted for the baseplate was crazy high, like 6k. I designed and built...

    Mahindra 2565

I had some things go badly with less than 500 hours. The engine light comes on as the Emissions becomes loaded down with carbon on the EGR valve. I replaced the valve at a cost of $826.39, the starter went bad, another $700, the clutch went $3150. I would not say it is cheap to keep it up. The...

I have a 2” receiver on my quick release loader platform. The maneuverability is first rate for the very tight back in job.

    Quonset Hut vs Conainer

The Xframe is stronger for snow weight. I would not recommend elderly persons do this. The height and weight is a component of concern. I built my own baseplate. I found it very helpful for assembly. I would have bought the baseplate if it were 3k or less. The X frame was more like 7k for 48’...

Is a fully discharged battery now junk?

I had a gel mat battery go dead this summer for my RV. I hooked another 12 volt battery to the discharged one and it slow charged to life. The buffer action allowed it to accept the charging. I could not get the Gel Mat to accept power directly from a battery charger.

I have a plastic hinge that is badly cracked. I see a new one is $70 and still plastic I said to myself, this is not too hard to fix but it will not hold up. Why don’t you add a splint to the outside with .078 steel. Just Riviet it in place with 3/16 over size head and you will have it . I did...

    Electric Vehicles Jr...

I have been reading about the huge losses Ford is taking on the Lightening. I have not seen a coherent plan for battery recycling and where is the electricity going to be generated? Big problems that do not have a good solution. Fuel cell is interesting but the production of it needs...

The ride good, good pickup and nicely appointed. If charging would have not been such a problem we would call it a win. The additional charges incurred for fuel that were not delivered with horrible wait times made it a bitter experience.

    Electric Vehicles Jr...

We rented a Polestar 2 from MCO ( Orlando) and had qui a problem doing a charge. We drove to Lakeland, 60 miles and it took 22% of the battery. I then spent 12+ hours at a ChargePoint station in Lakeland to gain 52% battery capacity. The charge rate and availability of charge stations is not...

    Building my barn!

I am doing a Quonset and found the cost of cement staggering. I paid $225 / yard in MI. That was a Saturday delivery so it was more. Getting a cement company is a good move. It was 90 and we were unable to finish the cement quick enough. We kept adding water and had visqueen under it but it was...
