    You might go with thinner plate and brace the underside with material from the scrapyard. 1/2" plate is HEAVY.

    If you get interested in the ugly tractors with original dirt you can learn a lot. A clean tractor has much of the helpful evidence removed. Don't buy a paint job.

    A lot of good TIG welders worked at Westinghouse back in the day. I believe they could have welded two razor blades together. TIG's the way to go.

    Tire won’t take air.

    After trying everything to get a wheelbarrow tire to take air, without success, I stuffed it full of wadded up newspaper to push the bead against the rim. It worked, and I guess it's still in there.
