My JD 4300 needs a new engine--block too worn to resleeve. The engine is a Yanmar 3TNE84. I have found a used 3TNV84. Will this work without modifications?
The tractor cranks weakly, but won't start. Replaced the battery and had the starter checked at a specialty starter shop. What's the next step to trouble-shoot this?
How are electrical relays tested? I have a JD 4300 and I suspect that there may be a bad relay preventing the engine starting (won't crank when the key is turned). Thanks!

My wife was using the 4300, stopped to pick up something, and the engine died before she got back on the tractor. She turned the key but it made no cranking or any other sounds. I checked the battery, it seems fine (the lights and flashers work). The idiot lights do not light up when the key...
My JD 4300 seems to be starved for fuel. The tank has plenty of fuel, the sediment bowl is clean. Could the pump be the problem? How can I test the fuel pump to see if it is functioning properly? Thanks!
