Until you get a grapple, you will never understand how much and for what all it can be used for. It's like having a big hand on your tractor. I cut an immense amount of wood as I use and sell it. I will grab logs with the grapple, or drag them out if they're too long, and take them to the...

    Any Fig Fanatics?

We had a very rainy spring and summer actually. I wonder if that's why my fig tree didn't make it - too much water. I have 3 huge persimmon trees in my front yard and all the rain caused the leafs on all 3 trees to have black dots all over them which I read was a rain related fungus. That caused...

I agree, I never have had a need for hyd side link.. I had forks for well over a year before I purchased my grapple and my forks are now seldomly used. Trying to balance logs or brush on forks was a real PITA. The grapple was probably the best investment I ever made for my tractor with the...

    Any Fig Fanatics?

It was the Chicago Hardy fig. My ex-girlfriend's mom and I both ordered one and each died. Could have been a bad batch.

Choosing a Control Valve for Rear Remotes

Why not just buy a simple two spool valve? I added this one to my Kubota and it works great. https://summit-hydraulics.com/product/monoblock-hydraulic-directional-control-valve-2-spool-11-gpm/

    Any Fig Fanatics?

I ordered a fig last fall and kept it in my shop all winter. It thrived in the heated shop and I planted it this spring. It died really quickly. I am gonna give it another go and see if I can get one to grow.

How could Artificial Intelligence become dangerous?

I work for a major university and have been told by my leadership that I have to go through all of this training to become knowledgeable on supporting AI. For the past two days I have done nothing but either do training modules or sit in meetings with faculty who are experts in AI. It's been...

No, I really like the location of where I placed the valve. I had no use for tilt so I used that spool to run my grapple. The joystick that comes straight out is what controls my grapple and tip of that joystick to tip of my loader joystick is about 6" apart from one another which makes it...

What bugs/diseases/critters have ya'll seen that weren't around 30-40 years ago?

We only have a hand full of cases of CWD here with the first case reported in 2024 and are in the northern part of the state. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epizootic_hemorrhagic_disease

My area is getting hit with EHD really bad. Read a guy post yesterday that he's finding around 5 dead deer a day around his property.

How thick are you cutting? 2-3" at most?

Yup, you have to be careful and pay attention for sure. If I am operating one handed, I'm pretty laser focused. Actually, when sawing, I am always laser focused. I have seen bad things happen before.
