2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

The gearbox is vented to relieve any pressure caused by temperature changes. Any significant pressure in the gearbox would indicate a blocked vent. That could be the cause of the oil leak at the axle, but wouldn't cause the drive issue. High oil level in the gearbox would indicate either a brake...

    2007 toolcat 5600 - how can I tell if it’s high flow?

It's a common misconception that the presence of a case drain connection indicates a High Flow machine. It has nothing to do with high flow vs standard flow. All Toolcats have the 3 aux hydraulic lines, even in '02-03 when high flow wasn't available as an option. Another thing to be aware of is...

2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

The swashplate in the pump reverses flow to the motors. When traveling forward one hose is pressurized, and when traveling reverse the other hose is pressurized. The swashplate in the motors does not change direction, it only changes angle to switch between high and low speeds. So besides those...

2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

If I'm seeing it right, it's a drive motor hose. They attach to long straight fittings that extend out through the side of the frame. The other end goes to the piston pump in the center of the machine. I'm guessing something got into the hose when it was open and has now made it's way into the...

My C series looks quite different under the seat.

2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

I would be very surprised if the oil is the problem. It's not ideal to run the wrong type long term, but it won't cause the issue you're having. The sound in your video is not good enough to be helpful, but it looks like maybe the brake is not releasing. That is a front drive motor hose that...

2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

The pump swashplate angle is controlled by a servo which is controlled electronically by the drive controller. There's a swashplate angle sensor, so the controller would know if it's not moving properly in response to input and set a code. There is only one drive pump on the 2007 and newer TC...

2018 Toolcat 5600, 2100hours, barely moving forward or backup after a hose break repair

The drive system relief valves are in the pump. There is one for forward and one for reverse, so if you are having problems in both directions it's not likely a main relief valve problem unless somehow they both failed at the same time. There is a loop flushing valve in the motor, it allows a...

    Fender lights 2006 Toolcat 5600

If the other lights are working (marker lights, overhead work lights), and the selector switch on the dash is working, it has to be a the drive light relay. I believe it will be one of three relays hanging off the harness under the driver's seat. That relay and the selector switch are the only...

Toolcat GenA down - all of a sudden won't start - need help with ground

My Series C has a wire that looks like that connected to the negative battery terminal, and another one connected to the mega fuse above the battery. Your continuity test was flawed, it may not be a ground wire. You can get a beep to ground from high side circuits with low resistance or stray...

    Toolcat Years and Major Features

I've expanded the chart a little bit and made a few corrections. PDF attached for download. Notes: Series A, B, C machines can be towed at 2 MPH or less by removing the drive motor shuttle spools and installing brake release bolts in each axle. Series D and later cannot be towed...

    Toolcat Years and Major Features

According to my research there was never a diff lock available on the D (A0W1) or F (A94Y) series. All Toolcats with independent suspension have Torsen style limited slip differentials, with no locking diff option. Traction control was optional starting with the F series after serial number 14000.

Slow / Sluggish Bucket Tilt & Lift

If it's affecting both lift and tilt it would almost have to be a bad pump or the main relief valve. I don't think a bad pump would be intermittent. Do you hear any cavitation noise when it malfunctions?

    Tie Rod Help!

He's talking about a 1.5" chrome rod on a hydraulic cylinder. I haven't seen vise grips that would grab it, and if it gets buggered up it will tear up the hydraulic seal. There's only about 1/4" stick out past the seal when fully retracted.

    Tie Rod Help!

I've rebuilt lots of steering cylinders and I've never seen one come apart in the middle. I suppose it's possible depending how it's made. I always assumed the piston was shrink fit onto the center of a one piece chrome rod, but maybe there is a threaded connection in the middle. I would do as...
