3-Point Hitch Upgrade for stabilizer arms?

There is no available upgrade, other than fabricating something.

    JD 790 PTO Adjustment

Being a 2 stage clutch, are you pushing the pedal all the way down before engaging the PTO? The PTO clutch is all the way down; the transmission engagement is about halfway. You can shift the transmission without breaking power to the implement by depressing the clutch half way. Only the 2WD's...

    Rant on shipping

I ordered some seat covers from Seat Covers Unlimited, in May. Recently, I finally received a notice that they were going through final inspection, and I should expect to receive them soon. I waited, then inquired. I was then given a tracking number, and an email stating that they were on the...

Sthil Commercial Line Trimmers with 4 Cycle engines (still require 50:1 fuel/oil mix) - any experience

I have an FS130 that I've worked hard for 14 years, no issues, just regular maintenance. I'd buy another one, no question.

    Do you grease/maintain borrowed equipment?

I don't borrow, so it isn't a topic of discussion for me. However, if I did, I would discuss it with them prior to use. Would you like me to service it? What do you want me to use? If not (I understand and respect why someone would want to do it themselves), can I give you some money for the...

Is thirty years too long to keep a lawn mower?

I'm running a 40 year old Steiner S20, and it's got tons of life left. I like the older, simpler, more durable stuff.

Zero turn vs. 4X4 tractor for mowing

I've mowed considerably with a tractor/60" finish mower, a 48" zero turn, and a Steiner articulating tractor. These are my observations, limited to my context- mowing the same large area (3 acres weekly), with the tractor and zero turn. The tractor with the 60" finish mower mows the most in a...

replacing engine oil filter every change

I would never risk it for the cost of a filter.

Backhoe Boom Higher than Garage Door.

I keep my old Deere 310 in a barn, similar conditions. I have to lower the boom to get the tractor in and out of the barn. Once it's in, I swing the boom to the left and lower it to the ground (dirt floor), so that there's room to get other equipment in to the fuel tank. I haven't damaged...

    YM1700 High/Low shifter broke

It probably is installed before the shaft/gears are in place.

    King kutter tiller loud banging

You said in post #4 that you judged the shaft cut at the shortest length- that's not accurate. Changing the top link length can also change the shaft length. You need to cut the shaft marginally shorter than the shortest length that you've judged.

    Jogn Deere Stabilizer/sway bar question.

What? It IS normal. A couple of variables that will lead to stabilizers not pinning symmetrically- a bent implement frame, long link pins- the lift arm ends aren't positioned on the pins at the same place, and the width of the implement frame not mathematically working with the spacing...

    Jogn Deere Stabilizer/sway bar question.

It's normal. There are lots of variables involved, which may require non-symmetrical pinning of the stabilizers to get the implement centered.

Anyone have a MechMaxx 3-pt stump grinder?

My 790 has pretty deep low range gears. I think that I could manage it.

Anyone have a MechMaxx 3-pt stump grinder?

Anybody use one on a manual transmission tractor? I know that hydrostatic is ideal, but I don't have one.
