    Offered another unusual project

You might want to ask a local geologist, well driller, and/or conservationist. They would know your area best, and probably can give better advice than a bunch of tractor enthusiasts or wannabe farmers on the internet.

What is causing air in house water lines?

Have you tried lighting it? We had some natural gas in our water and if you had a lighter close to the aerator when you turned on the faucet, it would flare up.

    Snow chains

Is this setup just for snow removal work? I had chains for a number of years, but the rears with their deep lugs (and chain weight) made mounting a chalenge and resulted in a really bumpy ride. I've been using ice screws in the rears for a few seasons. Not as bumpy, but a lot easier to...

Packing/sealing a gravel road after 'resurfacing' / land plane

A landplane seems pretty worthless for this kind of grading. What you need is a multiaxis blade that you can create a crown for drainage. Shaping the road in a way that the water flows off to the side, rather than down the hill, will make it last a lot longer.

    Cost estimate on splitting L4310

I'm all for protecting the environment and watersheds, but that said, one can buy a ton of hydro fluid for the cost of splitting a tractor. My 4240 has had a leak for years. I keep the fluid full and park it on some cardboard or a mound of kitty litter and all is good.

    Tilt trailer

A tilt would be nice, but the ramps aren't that big of a deal. I have a small hill next to my driveway at home that I back up to. (so no ramps needed) and a small ditch in front of my shop. I can back the trailer towards the ditch and back my tractor out onto the road. (again, no ramps needed)

I got a dump truck! How does it work?

Is there any reason that you can't (won't) ask the owner??

I Added A Hydraulic Tongue Jack To A Dump Trailer

I'm not quite following. Did you do all this so you don't have to crank/pump to hitch/unhitch your trailer?

    Plowing Mishap

I don't know if anyone mentioned it, but an angled plow pushing hard (or hitting something) will put a lot of stress sideways on your loader arms. They are beefy for lifting straight up, but not nearly as strong for sideways forces. (racked arms could be a lot more expensive than just a quick...
