Thank you again. After a brief look today I'd say the pump is coming back off. I still have some questions for the young man who's got it this far, before that happens. This will probably be ongoing as I'm out of town until the end of the month.
I appreciate all of you and will keep you posted
Thank you.
My apologies, not sure I follow. Direct gravity feed to the injection pump inlet.
I want to make it as right and reliable for them as I possibly can. I see your point tho, once it's running there is a renewed spirit so to speak.
Thank You.
If there is fuel to each injector and the tractor is simply starting then shutting down, what's next? I'm thinking it's not flowing enough or possibly an obstruction. Hopefully not a timing issue but I believe at that point I might refer them to a pro. I don't want to add to their...
Thank you. I'll have eyes on it tomorrow and more information as well. I'm wondering if something wasn't simply overlooked. Starts right up then dies?
Thank you! Is there any way to confirm if it is a timing issue? I know the pump was rebuilt and bolted back up. I don't know what if any...
I've got what I believe is a 1978 model, I'm attaching photos in hopes someone can clarify for me. We've had the injection pump rebuilt at a reputable shop. The young man who is doing the work may have had some issues with the timing, I'm not sure. I've been asked to go take a look at the...
Is this a diy project or farmed out? I do almost all my own repairs on other equipment. Is there a shop manual or video for the pump and its components? Thank yall for the help. I'll b back with the machine next week.
Good Morning!
I'm new to this forum and new to this tractor. I'm working on wha I believe is a 1978 model Ford 6610 diesel. It has fuel overfilling the crankcase and raw out the exhaust. Where is the best place to post my questions? Is 78 a classic Ford? Would this fall in the operating forums...
Thanks fellas. Is there a way to clearly diagnose either of these problems? I don't want to pull too much apart or spend money on something I might not need. Thank you both again for your replies. Is there a better place in the forum for me to post m questions?
