    Long HST is here

Just saw one on the lot of my local Long dealer, a Landtrac 390 HST. Looks very similar to my 360 DTC, except hydro instead of gear. For those of you looking to save some money, but must have HST, these Longs are well worth a look.

    Stupid Shear Bolt

Well, due to problems with my lawn tractor, I hadn't been able to mow the field across from my house. As it had got pretty high, I figured I cut it with my brush cutter first, then go back over it with the lawn tractor later. I was suprised with how nice a cut I got with the brush cutter. As I...

    First Big Project

Well I just finished my first big project yesterday. I "piped in" a creek running next to my house. I used 15 inch I.D. corrigated plastic pipe, 4 1/2 20 foot sections. I started by widening the creek with the backhoe, to make the pipe sit flat in the channel. I then used the FEL to dump loose...

    Tire ballest question

When I purchased my tractor, my dealer had the tires loaded. I assumed it was with calcium chloride. I had an innertube go bad yesterday, must have been defective as it had a split about 4 inches long in it with no marks what so ever on the tire. I took it to the local tire shop to get it fixed...

Top gear, bumpy road, long FEL joystick.

Had an interesting, if somewhat alarming experience today. I was driving my tractor home from my brothers after doing some yard smoothing for him. I am tooling along in top gear, throttle wide open, when I hit a very bumpy section on my road. All of a sudden my joystick for the FEL bonces down...

    Toothbar Mounted

Well, I got my toothbar mounted today. Had to shim it a little bit, but I got it nice and snug now. Boy, that is one heavy sucker, my arms are sore from horsing it around to get everything lined up. Unfortunatly, after all the rain we had the past 3 days, the ground is too wet to try it out...

    Rain

Wouldn't you know it ? It finally dried up here in SW PA, so I went and got a box blade. Got it home, hooked it up and got to play for about an hour, then it started to rain. Ground is now a muddy mess. I guess I'll have to wait for it to dry out again. Ed King
