    Comparison  XG30xx v XG31xx differences?

I am looking at a 30ish hp tractor to replace my B7610. I have narrowed it down to Kioti or LS (Kubota b3350 in third place but will be price dependent.) The LS website is pretty poor on details and I have not yet met with the salesman. What are the differences in the XG30 and XG31 series?

Spreader  Where to find PTO shaft with key on implement end?

I have a Massey 160 Spreader that needs a new PTO shaft. It is a 1" with keyway on the stub that is on the implement. The PTO shaft will need a 1/4" key. I ordered what I thought was correct from Agri-Supply but it's wrong--has the keyway, not the key. I priced one at a local tractor store...

    New to me G1900S

I just bought this excellently preserved g1900s for $3000. Only 540 hours. Extra blades (x2) and parts, WSM, turbo bagger. It mows great. The turbo bagger is for sale as I won't use it. What I wish it had: tach, power steering, grab bars. I've already added a grab bar and will survive without...

Just a heads up: I just listed a Caroni Flail and Tital grapple under the private party ads section. Thanks, Duane

    White material in fuel?

My L5240 sputtered out while raking hay. It had a white material (like cotton) in the filter, the fuel supply line and the tank nipple. A stick pushed the material out of the nipple and fuel runs fine now. The tank will be removed and flushed tomorrow. Any ideas what this is? It looks and feels...

Bumper crop of hay with pic.

Last year was the first we cut hay. Our farm had neglected fields and we had not done anything to them. We got 18 bales first cutting and 10 in the fall off about 11 acres. Since then we put down two applications of lime and one of litter. I've over seeded and sprayed weeds. We just took 50...

Box Scraper  Added weight to box blade.

I have a mid-weight BB and had an extra 7 ft length of RR rail. Together they make a great ballast. The blade also cuts better. I guess the rail weighs about 250-300 lbs. The rail is left over from a cattle guard I made.

    Putting down lime.

Don't forget to remove your trail cam before putting down lime.

    24 Volt 4-Wheeler electrical question.

I have a 24V kids 4-wheeler. It is about 3 years old and I replaced both batteries this year. It has a fuse that keeps popping with shorter intevals. My 3yr son gets frustrated with having to wait for the fuse to cool and then reset it all the time. I'm clueless with electric stuff. Any ideas on...

Type of Caroni flail roller bearing grease?

I bought a Caroni flail mower on sale because it was missing the roller bearings. They got me a set and I will put them in this week. I don't have a manual. Anyone know what type of grease I should use? Any tips for a first timer? Never handled a roller bearing before. Thanks,

Grapple  Grapple search: one cylinder vs. two?

Looking for a grapple. I would appreciate help deciding on one or two cylinders. It will be used for brush, rocks, and trees on an L5240. Thanks,

    After much waiting, it's here...

New (used) L5240 arrived today with loader, 7' rotary, 7' rake, and 2-spear bale fork. Thanks to all the users of this site who provided me with good info (even when they didn't know they were.) The new one's on the right.

Buying Advice  CT450 questions. About to buy.

I'm looking to get a 50hp range tractor and have what seems a pretty good price on a CT450 at the local dealer, $23,7000 with loader. He tells me that Bobcat does not sell a top-n-tilt and we might find an aftermarket item. Anyone have a t-n-t they recommend? Also, should the tires be loaded? I...

    Building low water bridge

I have a year-round creek, about 20 feet wide, I'd like to be able to cross. I've thought about trying to calculate the flow and get enough big culverts and then bury them with rock to make a low water "bridge." The average depth at this crossing is about 6-8 inches. Maybe I should just fill...

    Briar patch clearing help.

Don't know if this post belongs here or in "attachments," but here is the deal: I have just bought a 66 ac hilly farm that's been neglected. There are large patches of briars that I want to clear to get the fields ready for hay. There are cattle on it now. I used a 7' rotary cutter (borrowed)...
