Thanks for the response! I managed to get my local mechanic out today and of course, he solved the problem in about a minute. Opened the bleed screw and pumped the fuel lever while I cranked the engine and it started after about 20 seconds of cranking.
So this morning I replaced the fuel filter on my John Deere 2355. Clipped in the new filter, loosened bleed screw, manually pumped the lever at the fuel filter until the air was mostly gone (couldn't quite get the bubble at the very top center since the bleed screw is on the right side)...
I've started having a shifting issue on my 1988 JD 2355, when I try to put it in reverse, it feels more like neutral (can't feel the gear through the gear shift) and about 95% of the time it won't back up. Both forward ranges and forward gears all work fine. It has a cab, so getting a good look...
