    Shibaura SD2243D Questions

This is the style hydraulic filter on my 2243, bit of a pain in the butt to get the filter out and I'm currently trying to find a new filter, I did a Google search and found a free download of a shop manual for a Ford 1710 that has a lot of the same info.

Hydraulic motor keeps pushing seal out.

Look to the far right at PN# 3, I'm pretty sure that's the missing C-clip. I found the picture on Google, wasn't able to pull up the parts list, but I bet its available....nice heavy duty mower!

    New to Vintage Fords

I just bought what I was told was a Ford 2N, I know very little about these tractors and am looking forward to 2learning/fixing/restoring it. First question, it's extremely faded, but the badging on the hood looks like it might say "Worthington", is this a good sign or a bad sign?

    Backhoe sub-frame

I bought a used backhoe, somebody had modified the attachment plate for a bobcat QD style attachment. I'm changing it over to fit on my tractor, I'm building a sub-frame but I have no experience with backhoes or sub-frames. My tractor has a front end loader and I intend to tie the backhoe...

    Electrical/issues

I have a early 80's Shibaura tractor, I was having electrical problems and decided to tackle it head-on. I removed EVERY wire from the entire tractor, if it was copper and insulated it was gone. The alternator had been leaking smoke so I replaced it with a GM single wire alternator. The fuse...

    Shibaura electrical issues #2

In my previous post I detailed about all the electrical work I did on my tractor, after over a year the only problem turns out to be a bad gauge. Tonight I replaced the gauge, when I did the rewire I also replaced the fuel tank sender (to match the new gauge) it was reading 1/8 to 7/8 instead...

    Portable cement mixer recommendations?

Not to change the subject, I saw this for sale and I was wondering if there would be enough interest in delivery of small loads to make this worth while, they make 1/2, 1, 2, and 3 yard versions.

    3 point backhoe

I just bought a 3pt backhoe, it has a homemade bobcat QD, and I'll be converting it to a 3pt style hookup. The hydraulics are setup for a bobcat, but I will be using a pto pump with a small tank. Does it matter if the tank is mounted lower, higher or at the same level as the pump?

    Backhoe

I just bought a backhoe, it is setup with a homemade bobcat adapter, I'm going to be converting it to 3 point, is there any things that I should add or consider to make it work better?

    Added weight advice

The from diff on my grey market tractor is inop, and I basically have a two wheel drive tractor, my property is soft sand and in two wheel drive it takes about 3 seconds for my tractor to bury itself. I added a grapple and I love it, but I can really notice the 200 extra pounds on the front end...

    Alternative third function

I added an add-a-grapple to my tractor, instead of using an electric third function I added an extra valve, instead of $700+ it cost me about $200 for the valve and fittings. I used quick disconnects on the grapple and later I'm thinking about adding tee's to the lines and running lines to the...

    Vtek controller valve

I have a vtek loader and I'm trying to find out which port is the power beyond port. In this picture I'm thinking that the top port power beyond, the next one is pressure in, then two hoses for one cylinder, two hoses for the other cylinder, an unknown port and on the bottom of the picture is...

Cleaning up and trying to make it pretty

When I bought my little girl she had lived a hard life, I've been working at cleaning her up and making her pretty again. The data plate had been painted over and I wanted to clean it up without removing the stencil ink, I gambled and tried acetone from Lowe's. I think it worked pretty good, I...

    A little cleaning up

When I bought my tractor it had lived a hard life, I've been working at cleaning it up. Today's project was trying to clean the grey paint off the ID plate. I used some acetone from Lowe's to try to remove the the grey paint without removing the stencil ink, I think it worked pretty good, slow...
