I was wondering if the 1010 I am buying will handle a 48" tiller, anyone have exp. Also what is HP? (3 cyl desil)

Started to change gears and shift lever became loose, now rotates rather than move back and forth across. I can hold it in strait position and with coaxing, get it in another gear. Is something broken, or just come out of socket? Charlie
