I was just thinking about what to seed with the other day. Does your tall fescue do ok without any maintenance? I've read it really needs to be watered in summer, but we don't want to irrigate.
That does look like a cool attachment. Where are you guys renting attachments?
I generally see this as a skid steer attachment. Lots of guys renting out skid steers in my area, i guess i can ask if they could rent an attachment as well
Unfortunately I don't have a 40hp tractor, lol. I've thought about tilling (would make it easier to seed) but it seems like as soon as you drove over it with the tractor it would rut it badly. I was hoping with a land plane there would still be a relatively undisturbed base.
Interesting, never seen that attachment before.
I'd still be more interested in a land plane if it would work, since I have a gravel drive as well to maintain. Think it would work?
I've used my box blade to the best of my ability, but our land is still pretty bumpy and puddles badly in rain. We have clay soil here that is unworkable when wet, so have to wait for it to dry out, at which point it becomes as hard as concrete. Would a land plane with scarifiers work to help...
Thanks for all the help. Didn't know there was a term for this (floppy buckey syndrome). The inability of the pump to keep up when a heavy load is moving the bucket by gravity is likely the culprit.
I'm keeping RPMs around 2300 (about where the non-eco PTO speed indicator is). The engine...
I have a new Kioti with only 60 hours on it. Been doing a lot of dirt moving on our new property. I noticed when the bucket is full and I am dumping into a pile, the bucket will "stick" at about the last 10% of travel on its way towards the full dump position. Takes a second or two to get...
Well, if you already have your box blade, your solution is simple. Measure the top link length when level at ground level, and that should be about the midpoint of your range.
Thank you for a link to the part. My cylinder doesn’t seem to be particularly fast moving, but if I still have this problem ill certainly give it a shot for only $13.
I don’t have a restrictor or even know what one is! I just plugged it directly into the rear remotes on my Kioti.
None of the Amazon reviews on the cylinder mention any issue so I’m thinking it might be air? I did swap the lines (at the quick disconnects) a few times to figure out which...
Just wanted to follow up and let folks know how it went, including future Google searchers :)
Got my box blade and hooked it up. Seems like the 18-26 cylinder is just about the perfect range. Attaching shots at each extreme at ground level. Think I’ll get good range out of the box blade...
Thanks again. Unfortunately both locations where I can attach the top link to the mower are slotted on the mower. They claim they slot them for "float", but I thought a 3 point hitch was floating by nature anyway (when all the way down).
