Getting Power to a Winch, 770

I have a warn winch on a multi-mount and in conjunction with my 3-point receiver, want it to aid me in skidding large logs or felled trees that I cannot access. The trouble is, I need to route 2 ga wire to the battery and things are really closed up tight up front, plus I have a loader. I am...

JD 770 Working like a Jackass

She runs like a top! Neighbor near me had a big standing-dead whit oak felled. I said I'd take the wood; he said ok. I am an idiot:o The Deere 770 working hard pictures by modified_bob2007 - Photobucket

    770 firewood hauler

This combo works well for me, adds traction. BTW 2 of these fill a full-face cord rack with 20" pieces, I go through 12-15 of the racks per year.

    Mixing Turf and R4??

I just popped my left front tire, size 25x8.50-14:( . It was original and cracked and beat and had a slash (where it ultimately failed) and I beat them like a red-headed stepchild as I use my loader heavilly and do stuff in the woods. SO - my local tire guy has the R4's (carlisle, correct size)...

    2 Easy Questions - Deere 770

    1. What is the proper warm idle speed? 2. What size landscape rake can I go with, 6,7 feet etc? Thanks, and happy digging/mowing/splitting/seeding/plowing/loading!!:D

3-Point Hitch  Proper width for 3-pt Landscape Rake?

A 5-foot rear blade just barely covers the rear of my tractor, so I moved up to a 6-foot so I can plow easy even if blade is angled. Should I look for the the same sizing if I get a landscape rake? These can be angled as well, but is it as much an issue as a rear blade? Thanks!

Mowing  Call me an idiot - 261 Mower question

See the pics. One is looking down and to the left of the gearbox from the rear of the deck. Other pic is another angle on the sheaves in question, from the left side if you're standing behind the deck. How do you install the belt:o ? I wrestled with the old one and finally just cut it. It seems...

    Shackle size - 770 drawbar?

Sorry for the thread but I hope to get a shackle today and I neglected to bring or measure my drawbar when I left the house:o . I aim to buy a shackle that will 'span' the thickness of the drawbar and allow me to attach a cable for skidding some logs. Thanks!

Mowing  JD Model 261 Rear Finish Mower questions

I recently picked up one of these (used) to cut my rather meager lawn. Questions: 1) the drive shaft is splines and thus can telescope. Is the steel tubualr shield supposed to telescope as well? 2) I got a bracket with many small holes and 2 large bolts/nuts/washers. Where does this mount...

770 - where to hook chain?

I had heard the 770 was a bare-bones tractor before I got it! There are 2 noticeable items missing that I had on the rear of the orange B7100 (another we don' nee' no steenkin' cupholders tractor :D ) that the 770 replaced: 1) multiple holes to pin the middle 3-point link. I haven't seen an...

Rear Blade  Rear Blade - performance comparison?

All, I am new here but have been surfing things. I could not find an answer to this directly so at the risk of a redundant thread here goes: I am in the market for a 72" rear blade. I want to find out, to the greatest extent possible, IF a rear blade with tilt and offset AND side plates (Woods...
