The XT3 line is much better built and designed than the older 2000-3000 models in my opinion. My 2004 3235 with 54 inch fabricated deck had hydraulic power steering. Every time I mowed a strip across my 1 acre yard the steering wheel would be in a different position. It blew a head gasket at...
I had a 3235 with 54 inch fabricated deck. It had baffles in the deck and would clog up from my very wet and uneven 1 acre yard. The deck weighed 260 pounds and had shaft drive and was a bear to drag out from under the tractor to clean at least once a season. In 2015 I bought my current XT3-GSX...
I ran a 1450 (my first Cub) for 26 years in Northern Ohio using 5W30 or 10W30 oil, primarily Quaker State but also other brands. I mowed 1 acre in summer and snow-plowed with it in winter. I had to replace Kohler oil pan (cast aluminum) at 1000 hours because engine mounts failed and engine...
I haven't had a problem with my Cub but I have to constantly use GumOut All-in-one Ethanol fuel system cleaner in my push mower and edger to keep them running after using ethanol gas. It worked wonders in my Toro push mower which doesn't have a choke or any carb adjustments. I installed a new...
Try loosening the gas cap before running it. The check valve in the cap could be bad causing a vacuum to build up in the tank. Other possibility is the fuel pump. Spray starting fluid in the carb when it stops. If it then runs you know you have a fuel problem and not electrical.

I and many other people use 10W40 motor oil. The Drive System Plus is synthetic so I use Mobil 1. You can buy 5 quarts at Walmart for $22 or so.

I believe in coincidences but I've had it six years now and it never leaked a drop anywhere until I changed to synthetic and it hasn't leaked a drop since I changed back to straight 30W. I did the second oil change last month using the 30W. I'm not going to push my luck and try it again.
I may...
Try loosening the gas cap slightly and see if it still cuts out. A bad check valve in the cap can create a vacuum in the tank after it runs awhile.

That sounds like a bummer. Cub Cadet won't sell too many electric mowers if they don't get their act together. I wonder if they know how many customers/potential customers read these forums and make buying decisions based on customer reviews and complaints.

I agree. I weigh 185 and I have some very rough areas in my 1 acre yard and my XT3 GSX bounces pretty hard. I like to think that it helps to keep me from forming kidney stones and dislodges them. The Hydro pedals do stop suddenly (you never need the brake pedal) but after you get accustomed to...
