House project is complete. Selling my PT 1460?

house (noun) - a hole in the ground into which one shovels money. 💰 I'd hang onto it if I were you, but your asking price isn't unreasonable if you really need to sell IMHO.

    425 filter and fluid change…again

Anyone know if there's an equivalent part number for the hydraulic oil filter for the PT-425? I've been using these for the engine oil and I'm thinking the next time I need to change that $@#!^ filter it's getting one with the nut on it....(or I guess I could weld one on)...here's the link for...

    PT-425 50 Hour Service Issues

Been so busy I haven't had time to write! FINALLY got the filter off thanks to @ponytug advice and a newer, larger, beterrer strap wrench with a 1/2" drive with a 36" breaker bar. Result: an utterly crushed filter later and....we're good! (y) Of course, then you need to get the filter...

    PT-425 50 Hour Service Issues

Huh. My manual shows the rear of the dog bone getting lubed every 8 hours, but the front (where you have to remove the covers) is listed as a 50 hour item. That said, I can DEFINITELY see why one would be much better off doing both at 8.

    PT-425 50 Hour Service Issues

Thank you everyone for the input! Ordered another filter wrench that may help. The idea I had that I didn't voice right off is to "work it hot" by changing the hydro filter with the oil hot enough to turn on the cooler fan. Not my idea of a good time, but sometimes the hot oil causes things...

    PT-425 50 Hour Service Issues

Oh no, I've been doing other regular lube every 10 hours or fewer. At 50 hours is the first "big service" for the hydraulic oil filter, the forward center pivot, etc. I decided to change the engine air filters as well as the oil and filter anyway, even though Koehler says you can go 100...

    PT-425 50 Hour Service Issues

Hi all, So I'm doing the 50 hour service...changed the engine oil and filter, the air filter, lubed most all of the chassis points, and lubed up all the linkages good, and then..... 1) We reached the @#^* hydraulic oil filter. It's pure eeeeeeevvvviiiilllll. None of my wrenches will move it...

What did you do with your Power Trac today?

We have two wells Peter (40' and 140' deep), but we also capture rainwater off the buildings. 1000 gallon rain tank plus another 750 in an old cistern that captures off the 100+ year old house. A two inch rain on the 40x80' building will fill the 1000 gallon. The tank on my rig is 65 gallons...

What did you do with your Power Trac today?

Planted an orchard today! 25 apple trees initially, 5 species. My water rig / pallet has a 65 gallon tank and a 12V battery in a waterproof box with a pump fastened to that. I pick it up and carry it with the PT forks. Weight, balance and structural integrity are "marginal." The...

What did you do with your Power Trac today?

Used a combo of the front mower and a heavy roller to mow and roll at the same time with the PT-425. It works! - although the rig is pretty long and you DEFINITELY do not want to get on a hillside with it. You also want to take your time turning because if you get the roller swinging the tail...

    Power Trac Review in JLC

Yeah, good article @SpringHollow! The author is right about remembering to watch the tilt on the bucket on the top of the lift arc, especially with a rolling load like a big tree branch. (Dude needs a grapple bucket for that work. 😉 ) One thing the author didn't mention is that heavy loads...

    1430 Duetz starting issues

You'd think if the key switch was off you should get the same as the bench voltage, but that's not what's happening right? Agree with m5040 that a quick trip to the auto parts store or an Interstate Batteries shop is a good thing to check and rule out if possible. Sounds like some kind of...

    PT1445 stalls out, won't start

Glad it turned out to be something that you had prior experience with! Looking at the broken wire, any chance of finding some solid core wire that gauge? It might have slightly better fatigue life down the line. It will be harder to bend like you've got it in the loop there, but once in place...
