No I have removed ends of all sizes for over 40 years. I have never used a tool or lube. Turn the end so you see nut stright up. Use the peen side of a 20oz hammer. Remove or loosen the nut strike just below the nut and let gravity do the rest.
No fuel at nozzles after removing the governor cover. I have experienced this problem with this type pump long ago but cannot remember the fix. It has to do with the levers under the cover.
