You Know You Are Old When

Nephew used to like showing us how fast he could do his Rubik cube.

But when he occasionally got bogged down, he would look up, grin, and say Sorry I don't know that one! :p
I never got competent on a Rubik's cube, but I could get the space shuttle to blast off on Tetris using a Gameboy almost every time.

My wife says I cheated. I say I took lessons. 🤣

30 years of it sitting in my curio cabinet, getting picked up at the holidays, and best I could ever do was all but the last 4 corners. Watched a guy on youtube explain it and got it done in about 8 hours. Next time it was 2 hours. Now I got it down to about the 2nd commercial break on a half hour show. Something to do while the cat sits in my lap in the late evening.

We had a bunch of brain teaser games in our house when I was a kid.

I'm so old that I can't even figure out Google Earth anymore. WTF is this "project" crap? It's a simple question of getting from point A to point B... or in today's case I just wanted to load the photos since the road I was on wouldn't be on their maps.

I'm not big on going out for breakfast.
Generally most of the foods are easy to cook and basic items.
30 large eggs at Costco here is $9. Bacon is regularily on sale for $5/lb. Toast bread aboot $3 a loaf.
Tea/coffee is relatively inexpensive.
So for $20 or less I can make 10-15 servings cooked exactly as I like it.
I don't need to get dressed, I can take as much time as I like or waste gas getting there.
I don't go out for breakfast either, but for a different reason. I don't really like much traditional breakfast fare. Look at the menu and it's mostly eggs (which I don't like) combined with some sort of greasy meat and/or toast. I'd rather make a sandwich, just the way I like it.

Many days I enjoy left overs, often cold.
Pizza
Spaghetti
Soup is great.
Sandwich is good. There's a one off sub place here that makes a sub that if you eat the whole thing in one sitting you'll be overstuffed. I've done it and had to walk around with the top button loosened up. The second half in the morning is perfect.
Chinese
Just aboot anything I eat any other time of day as long as it's not too fussy heating up.

I've never been a big breakfast person either. It seems like no matter what I eat I'm still hungry an hour later.
So why not just eat lunch and be done with it?

I would have to say breakfast with eggs is about my favorite meal.
Heck for supper tonight my wife had a fried egg with a slice of cheese and a slice of ham,
I had a two egg omelet with spicy Italian sausage, sliced cherry tomatoes, mushrooms and cheddar cheese. And we had a hash brown patty with it.

About 20 years ago there were four of us friends that went to breakfast on Saturday. Often we would take my plane to Rochester, IN (KRCR) to Karen's Restaurant, that had a breakfast buffet, that was on the south edge of the airport. You could even taxi in the grass to an area right across the street from it. Some times we went to Coldwater, MI or Jackson, MI as they also had restaurants on the fields. Other times we went to a local place, Tony's. Gradually the oldest of us kind of dropped out due to poor health, then another had to take care of his mother on weekends, and then in April the one remaining friend had a stroke and died in July.
I still go out on Saturday mornings, just to get out of the house. Tony's closed three years ago, but a new place opened in an old Bob Evans location, and they have good food. Occasionally I'll go to the Essenhaus that has about the only breakfast buffet left in the area, but I tend to pig out when I do, so I don't go there often.
