Good morning!!!!

successful morning but worked too hard at it
took the back way to Flemington NJ on a cool morning with the window down.
get out of car and feel for wallet.
nope.
back I go and do it all over again, this time staying on 202.
oh my are the state police chowing down on radar on that stretch due to the car show.
lots of lead footers coming to town.

looked at all the jacks, concluded for few times I used this the lightweight one would work fine.
and it did.
not much of a top to the scissors jack but I found a place on the spring shackle to jack it up where it got a full grip
without sliding. The round axle was sure no help.
very little corrosion. Took both wheels off, cleaned them, oiled down the contact surfaces, soaked the leaf springs front to rear,
and back went the wheels.
this trailer mostly sits but I keep it well lubed and rust free. Never liked rust...

the day had sure heated up by then and I came in with a wet shirt and happy to sit in a/c.

Rip, great to hear from you. Low sugar ketchup is better for you... ;)
glad you are doing ok and you clearly have been busy with major stuff.
when you get time, milk house pics?

for you engineers, do ya think they should have braced/reinforced that initial curve a little better?

I am sure they will review the original design calculations and do material testing. What I would look at carefully would be changes in the operating conditions such as increased water flow or abnormal water levels causing increased stress on the plastic elbow from water running through it

Made a trip to town to pick up a few things. Greased the excavator about 30 grease points. The swing bearings and swing gear takes 30 pump shots for each 90 degree position of the cab rotation. Tube ran out of grease so changed that also

Wife is cleaning up old files and found some pictures from back in Texas, lived there for almost 20 years. This picture shows our first two adopted kids from Houston

I was thinking more of the impact stresses from having someone heavy, if not obese, dropped the 6' or so to that corner. If that really is acrylic, acrylic is not fond of wet stress, especially impact stresses in my experience. I can see that they are trying for a free fall "open" experience, but...

I would say that this falls under somebody else's responsibilities.

All the best,

Peter

Afternoon all!
Just got out of the shower after washing and waxing the wife's car. Hot and humid for that kind of work!
Also spent some time taking apart a Canadian rocker. Ordered up a parts kit to replace all the bearings. Only 38 bucks.
Quite a few projects from the shop. Been trying to work smarter not harder. Neck and hands still ache but not that bad.
Nothing much going on around here. Nephew had some work done/operation on his sinus Friday so is in pain and keeping the wife busy.
Nothing else to report so here's some pics.
Hand carved myself a cane out of old closet rod, a piece of osage orange and a chunk of epoxy.
IMG_2237-EDIT.jpg
Grabbed a big chunk of sycamore and got two bowls out of it. 14 x 6 and 11 x 4.
IMG_2271.jpg
Another chunk of fire wood turned into a sweet looking bowl.
IMG_2217.jpg
Working on more stuff too. Sold another cigar holder and working on 2 more.
Having fun and staying busy!
Need to go fire up the grill!
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

how about plain old WD40 on the bolts and studs?
Wd not good for this application Drew. More of a water displacement lube.
My favorite use for it is to remove the tar off of a car's lower fender when you have to drive over recently repaved tar and gravel roads.

RIP, glad to see you still posting. Would love to hear more details of the crook and such but understand if you don't want to share. Hope this doesn't happen too often to others.

Took family to Port Aransas for a day trip. Older folks know it as Mustang Island. My autistic daughter went out a bit further than I wanted (almost to the 3rd sand bar) and I had to go out and yell for her to come back closer. I've caught plenty of stuff I don't care to swim with in the same depths off of the shorelines. The water was a beautiful emerald green, which only happens deep summer here. Anyway, after daughter got saltwater in her eyes and mouth, 10-15 minutes was enough for her. I guess she forgot how salty it is.

I nearly got eaten by a land shark! Family didn't want in the picture....

Picture doesn't do the water's color justice. Still can drive on some Texas beaches and park close to the water.

We rode the ferry over to the island. If you go south to Corpus Christi, you can cross over a bridge but that is a long way around for us. 10-15 minute wait, 5 minute ride across.

Wish I still had a catamaran. Miss this fun.

My mom went with her niece (my cousin) and husband to meet up with my sister. A GSD dog jumped on her and scratched her on the arm. It actually peeled her skin back, but the worst part is with her meds, the bleeding doesn't want to stop. Had to call and see if we can stop the Plavix and 1 other Rx to see if stopping them for a couple days will help the blood stop bleeding. Don't have an end to the story to tell yet.

Son and I fasting and praying about some stuff. He's made it about 27 hours. I'm at about 24 hours....but I'm getting hungry.

He mowed the yard this AM, and moved some fallen branches to the burn pile. I helped a bit but the LT180 42" edge deck started making some noise. It needs some new pulleys and a bit of replacement part love.

I fixed the old yellow canvas shade canopy to go on the 4310. It has been a while since it had shade.

We worked a bit on the pond rake idea. Went to Tractor supply to get some hardware, but their prices for some small cable clamps was rediculous. Will order on amazon, I have plenty of other stuff to order.

Thinking of a shade canopy for the Steiner beast. Don't want something heavy duty and rigid, I want 2 flexible rods, mounted like parallel rainbows from front to back, with a shade cloth between. Might have to make it myself.

Prayers for our team, our nation, and for peace in Israel and Ukraine.

The charger for the golf cart either isn't working, or the batteries have a problem. Get a flashing yellow on charger. Conflicting info online on what it means, some say voltage problem, other places says it's in slow charge mode.

volt meter on output of charger only showing 2V and should read 48v.

That is a nice area. Remember driving on the beach. Glad that is still the case. I don't think there was a ferry back when I was there. Spent a lot of time around Point Comfort near there building a cogeneration plant.
Hope your mother will be able to heal soon
