Scott, nice pic
David, Glad alfredo was a hit
Drew, glad safe trip, hope river ride is good.

Hot and Humid again.
Had AC guy out to give a quote on a new system. Ouch... He quoted a Trane unit. Said No one has yet to buy the mitubishi super duper inverter one, for around $30K-$40K depending on options.... Nice guy. He will let me do some of the work, like running condensate drain, and having the electrical suddenly appear in the correct places..... He is insisting that 2 ton is enough for upstairs, I had wanted to go a little larger, as my 2 ton geo unit seems undersized when it was working correctly. He's afraid of a short run time with larger unit, not enough dehumidification.

Just can't believe prices on things.

Amazon has a MrCool unit for $3500, not a minisplit, but regular ducted unit.
Ouch 30K ?

Happy Bday Happy!

Ron, hope you git yer giddy up figured out. Love the photos!

Billy, that coffee sounds good, I wish I could drink coffee with caffeine. Glad Della doing well.

I've been telling anyone who'd listen for years that our military Generals better get off their duffs, and stray off the beaten path and start drone production. I've said, "They better take a hard look and assess what is happening in Ukraine." Sec Def said also for many of them to be considered "consumables". I'm hoping they will go for cheap mass production. To just overcome the enemy with thousands at a time. Tanks don't stand much of a chance to special drones. Houtis have sunk 2 ships in the Red Sea in the last week, maybe with drones. Probably can buy a really nice drone for what they pay for one 155 howitzer shell with special fuse.
The cost of a 155mm artillery shell varies significantly, ranging from around $3,000 for basic, unguided rounds to upwards of $150,000 for advanced, GPS-guided shells. For example, the US M795 high explosive shell costs about $3,000, while the GPS-guided M982 Excalibur can cost $100,000 or more.

And Himars is another order of magnitude higher.
HIMARS is one of the most expensive weapon systems of the US Army. In 2014, a single unit–including the carrier and launcher– was priced at $3.5 million. In 2022, the launchers were valued at nearly $170,000, increasing the total price to $4.3 million per model

Prayers y'all.

Good (Saturday) morning. Overnight Low was a frosty -3.2C and it's presently 9.9C [heading to 14C], clear & calm.

I did get Paddock #4 chain-harrowed yesterday arvo. (y)

I received a couple of emails from my Mate from Brisbane... instead of visiting during New Years, he (and 'room mate') are coming next month. So the emails were receipts for 1) booking a "Penguin Tour" in Bicheno [Yes, we have fairy penguins in Tasmania] = I rang him back to inform him that he'd booked the wrong date. He called them and corrected it. 2) booking his round-trip ferry to/from Tassie. Because of the Penguin date mistake, I reviewed his ferry details and, yes, he'd screwed that up... everything was correct except instead of to/from it was from/to.

He later got back to me and advised that "one should not book during 'wine appreciation' night".

That's about it, take care all.

Good evening all. 76ºF for the start, partly cloudy sky, breezy. Windy, brisk gusts, mostly clear sky, less afternoon buildups, and high temp 92ºF, HI 99ºF. Made coffee to start day, Office work, bike ride, wind was brutal, along with heat. More office work after lunch, nap.
Ron glad grocery shopping went well, grass got cut and good PT. Sorry to hear you learned how to walk incorrectly, I trust you have a plan to fix that. Sorry weather messing with plans for today, hope you found some good indoor item on list. Pretty bird pic.
Drew does sound like a long day. Hope boat ride was fun, and dinner good. Good luck getting rear top brake light replaced. You might check fuses.
Ron wonderful offer.
Bill Hope town and dump run both went well.
Drew hope drive went well.
Billy sorry about the change from last year. Last summer much of Texas setting records for 100ºF+ days including me. So far no 100ºF days here. Glad you got a hike and Della got to play in the creek. Sounds like big quarry, hope it does not happen.
Frits glad Cody was good boy and sat instead of lounging. Good to hear you will be ready for tree cutters. I pray that D's blood work went well. Glad Podiatrist was able to help you walk pain free.
Phil sorry rain messing with you big time. Glad bug extermination proceeding. Hope weather will permit walks soon. I don't blame your wife for grabbing the box for her collection.
Spike56 good to hear from you. Thanks for the drone info and pic. Anti drone is probably fast track already.
Thomas Mrs sounds very protective of her 'babies"
Dennis sorry about data centers try to take all the power. Congrats on ripe tomatoes.
Ron good luck with change in walking style.

Oil change and transmission flush complete.
$40 for engine oil and filter Mobil 1 5w-40 euro grade
$77 for full synthetic Valvoline Dexron VI

DIY $117, cheeeep. :)

While the car calls for 0w-20 oil, I don't like running that light of horse Pee down here, especially in the summer. especially since the car burns about a quart every 2500 miles.

Looked on Mobil 1 website for their oil differences. Only the 15w-50 has good amounts of zinc and phosphorus, that is what I run in my motorcycle. They limit the zinc and phosphorus in their main car oils to keep the catalytic converters from fouling. The racing high performance and V twin oils have high levels too.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 69° with partly cloudy skies this morning.Heading to 83° with scattered thunderstorms. .11" rain yesterday. About 10 o'clock yesterday morning. The skies cleared up and sun came out. Got tractor out and cut back field. Found a dead Raccoon in field while cutting. Moved it out of the way. When I finished cutting there was already a Turkey Buzzard cleaning up the mess. Gave car a well needed bath. Need to fix sensor light under garage door. They are not working properly.
I have 3 Goldfish in Garden Pond that hatched last year. They are slowly changing from brown/black to gold. Will be same color as other fish in a couple of weeks. Only 2 stopped swimming long enough for a photo.
