You Know You Are Old When

Speaking of.... why don't more clothing manufacturers offer pants in 1" increments? I wear size 33 jeans. 32 is too small, 34 is too big. The cheapo Walmart jeans brand "George" offers 33" waist jeans, and for only $15.
Amen. I'm also a 33", and while you can find them, there are never as many options as the miles of 32's and 34's straddling that narrow grouping of 33's.

So, if I go soft in the middle as I work my way thru my early 50's, and manage to work myself up to a 34" waist, I'll be solving one problem.

Eat a lot of cookies and milk. You'll hit 34 in a couple weeks. :p

I can't remember when I last had a 32" waist but I got down to 34" for a month or so in 1979. been slowly growing ever since.

Went from 32 in the early 80's to 42 by 2000 and now back to 34. Was trending down still, then my back went sideways and I've been eating to much junk without working it off. Maybe once this new doc  figures something out I can bet back to working.

Looking forward to the next 5 pages of every regular member posting their waist size. :p

At least manage sandwich it into the middle of an interesting story or factoid!

Speaking of keeping old clothes, I bought a pair of Tony Lama boots in 1965. I went to the Lama store in El Paso and this nice guy helped me pick out a pair. I was a college student and he directed me to a nice pair that were reasonably priced.

I took them to check out and the cashier said “do you know who that was?”. Nope. He said that was Tony Lama himself. He comes down to the store every once in a while to see what his customers want.

I still have those boots!
I dug out my old Tony Lamas. Still looks good for 60 years old.

Baking cookies was a holiday tradition at our house. Along with family and the school Christmas party we'd make packages for the mailman, milkman and the trash men. Until about 3 years ago my mother always had something in the freezer for when somebody helped her with anything, People called her "the Cookie Lady".
She also made over 100 dozen cookies for Christmas each year. The last year she did that it was a bit overwhelming and we convinced her that it was time to cut back.
My Mother was the same at Christmas making cookies. Everyone especially liked her Mexican Wedding Cakes or "Fingers" as she called them.
I just called 'em Mexican Wedding Fingers...
