On another site a manager was complaining about an employee who quit because he wasn't being treated respectfully and fairly. People piled on saying the employee must be on the autism spectrum because focus on fairness is a symptom of autism. Really? Everyone I know expects to be treated fairly. But I guess everything needs a label.
Kids of this generation can't handle constructive criticism. They take it as an attack and then say they aren't being treated fairly, because you got on their case about something.

"Hey joe!!!! You screwed up, you cost us a bunch of money!!! Next time you need to do xyz......"

Most of the above, but the most recent change I've seen is the invasion of black vultures. Until maybe 10 years ago, we always saw turkey buzzards devouring the road kill. The first black ones I saw, I thought were immature turkey buzzards. Now, I rarely see a turkey buzzard, but the black ones are everywhere.
In my area of Arkansas, they came on the news and asked people to be on the look out for a black vulture that had a band on it's leg.

The wildlife department was using the band to track it.

Not my ankle biters. The big ones could crush an ankle. The little one (GSD) would cause some serious damage. The Anatolians are about 100 pounds of muscle attached to the most powerful bite in the dog world.

People used to just call them weird or retarded or some other derogatory term.
"Retarded" was a lump category from anyone with a mental handicap.

That will get me foaming at the mouth if someone uses that around me and they aren't referring to timing

I have a cousin who is super sweet, but has a mild disability, one arm that has the contractures, and drooling issue. She has all her mental faculties though.

She's actually married and has two kids.

My son's ex-wife got this from a tick bite. Happened 4 years ago and only in the last 6-8 months could she start tolerating an occasional steak or pork chop. Doctor told her some people never can eat red meat again after contracting this.
I knew someone who had the same issue. Took her years before she could tolerate anything besides fish and chicken.

Asian and Japanese beetles, they are terrible in Western Illinois where we live. Apparently black vultures are a problem not to far south of us in Missouri, I think you can get a permit to shot them or something.

I wonder if the depression and no limits had something to do with it, that and pesticides. Shoot it, eat it, shoot some more. Saw the first deer prints here in the 70s, turkeys 80s, bald eagles now are common, black bears just last year. Gypsy moths have been coming from Pennsylvania for years, 2 yrs ago created nuclear winter here. They ate everything. Last year every one died from high humidity, every single last one, from virus and bacteria and haven't been back this year. We had a cow once that had a genetic predisposition to be, uh, bull like. We finally had to ship her, it was just getting out of hand. Bob the cattle truck driver showed up, like he always did, on a dairy beef operation. Poor guy, he/she had her feet up on the fence, pawed the ground, took after Bob, he was running away and bunted him in the air with his feet moving fast but he couldn't get anywhere. All the BS about gender - you see it all on the farm. My kids are mesmerized about the farm, haybarns and hayforks. The discussion ends there.

Worms. Lived here on the same patch for 33 years. Lots of fat night crawlers after a storm. Haven't seen any in years. Instead, smaller "fish worm" sized ones that crawl over the grass during the day. Taking a leak in the yard seems to attract them.

No monarch butterflies in years. I quit mowing the milkweed until the following spring- no help, so far.

See only a handful of honey bees in the white clover every year. Used to be thick- always slowed down and nudged them away with the mower deck. Bumble bees are scarce too.

Here's my alpha gal, 2 hours after eating a juicy burger. Allergist says he sees 2 new cases a day here in SW Indiana.

Wow, I sure feel for her. I am in the woods almost daily. I think about that type of tick getting a hold of me. I go anyway, I do check afterwards though.

Hadn't thought about the monarch butterflies in a while. I will look around and see if I notice any around here. I have plenty of milkweed for em to lay their eggs on feed the babies.

Speaking of worms they are saying here in NC we have hammerhead worms. I personally haven't seen or know anyone who has yet.

I've been mowing around the milkweed patches on the family homestead... any butterfly which migrates thousands of miles deserves a break.
My brother goes behind me and cuts it down.
