good morning all
looks like a very nice day today, sunny with high of 80

there is no access to the rear of my bathtub area without cutting into sheetrock and the part where that was done a long time ago, hole is down low by controls, not up high where piping is. So, no joy there without ripping out my office wall.
that insulation foam expands and I get the idea, wonder if I need more grip. There are definitely no supports on this pipe, when I push it in
it sinks into wall half an inch. That movement is what I'm trying to stop. Thanks for ideas.

Bill, hang on to your wallet today.

Good Morning,
Ct, 46 to start going to 70. Looks like another beautiful day with bright blue skies. The rain and unsettled weather looks to move in tomorrow and on and off for the rest of the week. I will probably cut the grass again today because on Friday morning we will be leaving from New Jersey for a one week family cruise.

I ordered an inexpensive desk from
Amazon yesterday for my new amateur radio station that I’m starting to set up. Once again I thank Steve and David for their suggestions on my mission and quest to get my license back🙏.

Kathleen bought a new hard top gazebo for our back deck because the inexpensive one that we had the last few years, had a canvas top and it finally died. So another project for me to put together 😉.

RS, nice mowing job, looks like Paul could land his plane there ! 😉

Hope all have a great start to their week. 🙏

Good morning! The coldest temp this May has hit this morning. 51˚F heading to the upper 80s, N wind.

Tomorrow the high pressure starts to sit above us and the news media is having a weather hay day. This week there will bring "HISTORIC" high temps for May, well over 100˚.

The Farm let all Mothers in Free yesterday and the tractor wagon ride was popping, almost every trailer ride was full. One was over filled and had to refuse any more entry into wagon. The Mothers Daly brunch (not Free) had a waiting line till 1:30p.m. The unicorns field was a big hit even though the Sunflowers were bloomless. Perfect Weather, sunny and a high of 78˚F helped bring out the crowds also.

The baby animals are slowly being transported to the auction. Yesterday was the last day of bottle feeding. The tractor drivers will not be needed this Summer but expect a wild Fall Festival and the first "Choose and Cut" your own Christmas tree in November/December, they are finally 5 years old.

54 heading to 75, but big rain on the way.

Hope all mom's were well treated yesterday. I did my best.

Sitting at vet office waiting for 7:30 opening. Della gets spayed today...nearly 14 months old, so it's time. But it means no big hikes for 10 days to 2 weeks. Of course, other than skipping breakfast, she's happy to be going somewhere, and loves the vet...At least up until now.

good morning, 53 going to 76 rain later tonight possible

nice day yesterday, a country side drive that wife likes

Mowed some areas with very tall grass but no match for 31 diesel HP on the ZT

D sent picture of the beach that she walked with mother of high school friend.
Unfortunately she got stung by bee under her foot. Apparently this is a thing on the beaches where the bees get hit by salt water spray from the surf and not able to fly

Good morning TBN!!
57 wet degrees this morning. Almost an inch of rain in the gauge since midnight with another couple of inches coming today and tomorrow.
Down day yesterday. Got a walk in with the dog and unloaded some equipment from the truck. That was it.
Looks to be a pretty laid back day today. Under flood watch until tomorrow afternoon with pretty much constant rain expected. Be a good test to see where bridge might be lacking :)

Time for a second cup
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

Morning all, going up to 82 and sunny.
Started turning the dirt in the corn area and found another big root (3" and over 10 feet long) a little further down.
By then it was time to take the wife over to peddlars for mothers day, so I will hit the root with an axe and finish turning the soil today.we
Then planting, watering and the clips are not showing up until tomorrow it looks like.

Today, hopefully finish corn area and plant and layout the fencing. Bring in some wood chips from pile too.

Still need to open the pool. so a few thousand feet of weed whacking. Will mow again after the next round of rains. Will need to get the pole saw out to trim some high overgrowth, plant the last forsythia. Put in last tomato plant.
And of course hack down all the invasives now sprouting in the back area.

Could use some of the rain forecast starting later tonight, hope it's not going to pass us by again.

Be well,

Good Morning to All who Celebrate! 65° going to a high of 81° Storm clouds to roll in this afternoon and then rain for the rest of the week.

This weekend has been...Eventful.

Saturday morning, up early. Mom collars me halfway through a bowl of cereal. "Let's go rent that stump grinder and get it done." Dad had been chasing turkeys since Thursday. It being mother's day weekend and the fact that she feeds me, I wasn't in a strong position to say no. Get dressed, head outside, put key in truck...click.

No biggie, Mom's Audi is here, we can jump it. We quickly find, due to ze Germans infinite mechanical wisdom, that the batteries (two 12v in series) have been moved to the trunk of the car. Thanks to the unclear wording of the manual, there is a jump point somewhere under the hood, but where remains a mystery.

While my mother was doing her best to decipher the enigma manual, I had pulled the Kubota out and found that the battery was 12v. So:
Rescue.jpg

Gave the tractor some RPMs and Houston we have Ignition! By this time, it's roughly 10:30. Rental place closes at 2, remember that because it will be important later. So now we have a side quest: replace my 12 year old battery.

So run to the AutoZone, Shell out 240 bucks for a battery. As I had never replaced a battery before, get the battery replaced by the most...rotund woman I had ever seen. Now that I know it's just three nuts and a rachet extender, I'll be able to do it next time. By the time that hoopla ends, it's 1pm on the nose. Of course, I then proceed to get behind the oldest and slowest woman ever. I don't think she broke 25mph the entire time I was behind her. Did I mention the college nearby was graduating that same weekend too? Because it was.

We make the rental place at 1:45pm. There's one final hurdle to cross: The tie-down straps I had purchased aren't threaded in. 🙃

For such a circus getting the thing here, running it was a snap. Demolished the stump down far below grade, patched up the last few stumps that had a few roots left and then that was that. Spent the rest of the weekend shuttling tanbark around with the tractor, Mount Tanbark is certainly smaller now. Dad decided to spare the dead tree for more of a privacy screen, so be it.

Here's hoping this week is slower than my weekend. But if this morning is any indicator, it won't be. Time will tell.

Goals for this week: Make sure nothing needs mowed before the storm, schedule truck for inspection, Survive work week.

Y'all stay safe out there and Be well!
Prayers for those ailing and recovering!

61F and somewhat cloudy @ 08:30, heading up to around 82F for the day's high. Currently under an Air Quality Alert for ozone.

Rain moves in later, mostly likely in the evening.

Woman got most of the sticks picked over on the west side, enough for me to mow at any rate.

She headed over to the flower bed after that and started pulling weeds.

I finished all the mowing down here around the house. Also got compost/wood lot mowed.

Went to top off the gear oil in the front axle on the Kubota, didn't quite have enough so dispatched Her Royal Highness down to Autozone for another gallon.

She stopped at the Rib Man's on the way back and picked up a slab for dinner.

I started running over the front again while She was off doing that.

Took a break for dinner after She got back then went back to mowing the front and got that all finished up. Burned another tank of gas.

Finished topping off front axle on the Kubota and then got the ball on the hitch on the box blade removed.

Emptied the dump cart of the weeds She had pulled up at the compost pile.

Took Cub and dump cart over to the barn and retrieved all the tomato cages and brought them over to the garden.

Went back over and fished out a tarp that was lying in the woods and brought it back for The Woman to clean off.

Then took the Kubota over and hooked up the Country Mfg. 4 x 8 dump cart and brought it over to the house and unloaded some garden hoses. Then parked the dump cart outside on the south side of the barn.

Next up was moving the running gear/hay wagon ... pulled that out and parked it outside on the west side of the barn.

Juggled some stuff around in the barn and got the almost empty 330 gallon IBC tote moved up near the 275 gallon tote by the door.

Worked on cleaning that tarp off with The Woman and got it spread out to dry.

Took Kubota up and retrieved the 4 cattle panels that I got from a friend and brought those down to the garden.

Last item for the day was to move the Sprinter over to the barn and pump the diesel out of the tote in the van.

Got that done with only about an inch still left in the tote in the van, fully topping off the 275 and leaving about an inch of space in the 330:

IMG_3660 copy.jpg

So 330 + 275 = 605 gallons total so far.

Will be interesting to see how much is still left in the underground tank. Owner guesses a couple hundred gallons ... I'm guessing it will be closer to 100.

On the agenda for today:

Tarp posts.

Get some glyphosate spraying done before the rains arrive, assuming the wind isn't too bad.

Move some old deck boards from around back with the forks on the Kubota while it's still relatively dry.

Maybe start putting in stakes, laying out strings, and marking where the post holes will be drilled for the garden fence if there is time.

Refill hopper feeder.

Need to swing by Menards and pick up a 5 gallon bucket of roofing tar but will probably hold off for a rainy day.

Also need to order some fuel filter elements for the filter on the diesel dispensing pump on the 275 gallon tote.

Fitness reports my number of steps is has more than doubled in the last 4 weeks. Probably a good thing ... lol.

Hope everyone is having a decent Monday ... (y)
