The other day I jumped off the tailgate of my truck on our driveway because I was in a rush to get down.

I told my wife it was a good think I knew how to tuck and roll when I came into the house. I was laying on my back for a good couple of minutes just ensuring nothing was broken.

The only thing I could think of laying on the ground was I looked like my dad when he fell one time and I was wondering what was wrong with him back then. NOW I know...

About 15 16 years ago when I was 50, I was running across a store parking lot and decided to jump the jersey barrier they have to separate vehicles from people coming out of the store. I was in midair when I thought "What are you DOING!?!?! You aren't 20 anymore!"

Rather than clearing it I dropped my feet onto the barrier, slowing myself down.
Somehow it kept me from falling flat onto my face from a full jump.

I was once like that. Thanks to knee replacement no more running for me. That keeps me from doing some stupid things, although not all.

50 years ago I would vault a six foot fence to visit the neighbour. Now, If I can't step over with feet firmly planted on each side, I walk around.

No one in the family had the build of my grandfather who was amateur gymnast in his youth.

In his 70’s still spry and wiry able to do handstands and hop fences with the grandkids…

I see fewer men with this build today… grandfather was born 1896 and I remember every day he would have 1 small glass of beer with supper… never 2.

Breakfast 2 poached eggs and I have not heard of poached eggs in 30 years…

In the family home growing up I would run up and down the stairs skipping steps… don’t know when that exactly stopped but I hold onto the banister now!
