The 10" of snow was more like 12-14". All plowed now. Cancelled the quack appointment and moved it to May 8th.
Looked at the oil tank for the house, 1/4 full. Ordered oil for the 500, that'll be here on Thursday. For the house tank to get filled off their truck I need a current tank inspection as well as a furnace inspection. Told the girl that they can just fill the 500 and I will deal with the house tank. The 500 is NOT connected to the furnace nor the house and the only inspection it needed was the manufacturers certification tag.

Still winter fuel. This is a good thing. Price $1.32/L ($4.99/US Gal.) $0.43/L less than I paid last year at the start of winter.

Good Evening,
Vt, rough day up on the mountain. It never went over 32, with on and off snow showers all day. I finished laying the deck with numb fingers and toes , but I got it done. 😉 What should have taken about an hour took about 3, because I was running inside every 10 minutes. The wind was blowing at warp 10 also. 😉

I’m guessing Lou had similar weather because it was coming out of the west. Along with NHBX and Thomas. It could have been much worse, I just read that Bill had 12-14” of the white stuff 😒

Hoping to put up some firewood for next year tomorrow 🙏

Hope all have a good evening 🙏

Scott, congrats on getting the decking done. I'm ready to lay my first piece..
cold day, in the 30's with a cold strong wind.

Birds crapped both truck mirrors, will spare the pic this time, just as bad as yesterday.. so had to clean that first.
Hit mission BBQ for another smoked burger (Wonder if my wife notices I run my errands at lunch time?) then picked up 6 of the 8 ft solid edge Trex, that will get the main deck outlined.
There was a tape measure laying on the trex, exactly like the one i'm missing, so I checked amazon ($18), then asked at the checkout what it cost ($28), so left it lay there. After getting home, tried to order the amazon one, they said problem with that order... Then It showed the tape at $22 - $28, dont' need it that bad.
Decided to work in the cold, at least behind house wind was shielded a little.
Got 2 of the new short joists in, to support the ends at the picture frame. Pulled 1 more deck board to get started, and every other joist nails on the next 2 boards. More joist tape for the newly exposed joists. after working all afternoon, I'm in the position to start cutting around the rail posts for the 2nd piece from the end. Once it's in square to the house, will do the outside edge. Got chalk line marking the edge. All afternoon to do that. Once first piece in, it should go pretty fast, I hope.
Got the new jigsaw (2nd one) from amazon, will keep this one. Like it with the handle and trigger switch.

Best of luck Dennis, it was the wind that really killed me today 😉
I can almost deal with the cold but the wind is certainly a game changer.

Looking forward to your finished project. I still have another deck to do, but I need to recoup some cash before I get into the next one. 😉
I’m not in a big rush either 😄. 🙏

Good thing I didn't cut yet, I see end gaps only need to be 1/8", and not 1/4" like the spacers gap between boards. I'll need to remark the first piece.

This will be the picture frame on the ends.

Good (Wednesday) morning. Overnight Low of 5.0C and it's presently 19.2C, clear with a breeze.

Busy yesterday making up signs and awaiting a phone call regarding yet more signs... which came @ 1315. So I drove to Canara (somewhat 'half way point') to retrieve those signs. Home by 1600 and proceeded to knock all of those sins up = done by 1800.

Which, of course, meant some calf/ankle cramping at night... osteo-paracetamol took care of that.

Today is 'into town' day for, first the PO, then groceries.

That's about it, take care all.

Going down to 9 tonight and up to 34°F tomorrow. Bye, bye snow. Oil truck coming on Thursday to the tune of about 400 gallons. Popped the gauge out of the tank and put the whistle in, after I got done plowing. I'll fill up the house tank, then call them back for another 600L (158 Gal.) That will be everything full for the summer.
I think I am going to take the chains off the tractor this summer. May replace them with ladder chains. Not sure yet.
