I have been hearing of quite a few issues with EPA stuff but so far with close to 500 hours on my LS XR4155 I haven’t experienced any problems
I haven’t had problems either, and if I didn’t have a tier 4 tractor I probably wouldn’t own one anymore. The fumes from my old pre-emissions tractor gave me a severe sinus headache after operating it for 30 minutes. I can operate my tier 4 machine all day without these issues, except when it’s doing a regeneration. But that only happens every 50 hours or so.

Yes, you can turn off DEF/DPF equipment with a laptop. EGR’s require a physical block. IMO, if standards are rolled back, we should be able to shut it off ourselves.
If these are shielded, it should be necessary to remove the aftertreatment carrier from the inside of the exhaust pipe

Post-processing does have an effect
But whether regenerating every 50 hours is a bit too frequent

From another thread; Deutz makes 75HP tractors this way:
"Tier 4 emissions compliant engine with “No Maintenance” emissions system: No SCR, No DPF"
source: 5D Keyline - Deutz-Fahr America
If Deutz can do it, why can't MF, JD, and others?

It does it around 50 hours in the winter and more like 70 hours in the summer.

The EPA is rolling back some emission standards, was just announced. If the official government policy at the time of purchase is "x", then you can't be punished later for adhearing to policy "x".

Get those deletes now boys...

TYMs are easy to delete. Just remove the can.

Maybe the bad rap is from early models or unusual use…

Someone plowing a field might be running hot to delay regen?

Makes you wonder what truck manufacturers, if anything, have to look forward to?
Could be a a real boost to the US manufacturing economy.
I like clean air, but not at the cost of diesel engine reliability. I’m trying to make a living here.
Wonder what todays high efficiency, high PSI injectors with computerized timing would run in terms of exhaust compared to 1990’s engines? Maybe they’d be clean enough to be acceptable?
The after treatment systems have been somewhat perfected. Tim to get rid of the engine issues associated with EGR.

Just about every non compliant big rig is gone plus commercial tractors m, chippers, generators, etc…

California was adamant to see this happened and enforced it various ways including port pickup and deliveries.

They have been making tractors for countries without emission restrictions the whole time so I don’t see what the issue is. The emission equipment costs thousands of dollars and consumers hate the decreased reliability and increased fuel consumption so I think manufacturers would jump at the chance to get rid of it. If one manufacturer ditches it that would be a substantial marketing advantage so I expect all of them follow suit.
I would have to agree with this…seems the most logical way to go like vehicles

I sure hope so, anything that’s ever broke on my diesel trucks has been emission related

The one thing I dislike the most about my mx5200 is the DPF system because it makes it difficult to run the tractor at an idle for something like running a forestry winch at low RPM without having to run a regen cycle at higher RPM later as a consequence. Having an emissions system that depends on running the tractor at a higher rpm just to generate heat to burn off particulates in the filter is just so messed up.

My NH WM75 uses DOC/EGR technology. No DPF, no regens, and no routine maintenance. Others such as MF use the same technology. While is it possible to need some maintenance down the line, I doubt it will be in my lifetime at only 50 hours a year usage.

Where did you get the information that says regenerating at 50 hours is to often ?
Mine seems to usually regenerate around 50 hours, seems fine to me , I actually thought that’s what it was supposed to do.

I bought a non-compliant backhoe from Cally about 15 years ago. We still have quite a few non-emissions machines running here. They fetch good money if well kept.

There was a huge purge and many mom and pops called it quits have excellent equipment regulated illegal… it all went out of State with some International.

I looked at the EPA's list of regulations they may potentially roll back. It's right on their web site. The only one I can find that would apply to diesel vehicles is for Greenhouse Gas Emissions Standards for Heavy-Duty Vehicles – Phase 3, which would have begun with model year 2027. It's a future regulation not a current one. And not for pickups or the tractors most of us use.

I have seen some people on the internet claim that the EPA is removing emissions regulations for diesel pickups. Mostly on youtube, where if you get views by making fantastic claims you get paid more. But I can't find any actual published words that even remotely resemble a rollback of existing regulations.

The rest of the emissions rollbacks are enabling corporations to pollute more. The usual giveaway to the super rich. They get the profits, we get the cancer.

Don't impact me anyway because both my M's are not T4 compliant and neither are going anywhere soon either. They both blow 'hillbilly incense' when working...lol
