Not to incite a flame war but I hold little to no credence in predictions today as most are just pie-in-the sky anyway. Good example was the last Presidential election for a benchmark.

Mixed feelings, there. The presidential predictions are a bit of a separate matter, especially when we inject a controversial candidate, and flawed polling systems. But when it comes to data-based predictions on things like emissions, the source of error is almost always a failure to predict or account for changes in conditions. Assumptions are made, either because doing otherwise would cost more time and money than is allowed for the study, or sometimes out of laziness or lack of foresight, or sometimes because events no one predicted (e.g. a pandemic) changed the conditions.

But on such a near-term prediction, literally 2025, it seems the probability for any such error significant enough to change the conclusion should be much lower.

Reminds me of the many peak oil predictions I've read. That's not just a 2025 prediction; it's a forever prediction.

We have added another EV in the family. My wife had told me that the daughter had bought a used Bolt but I didn't really know any of the details until I talk with the daughter on Monday . Said they charge it in a park near work and they get about 100 miles of range for about $4 So it's a level 2 charger

It turned out to be a 2022 top-of-the-line Bolt with 5,000 mi on it and a brand new battery from GM.

If they are the best cars ever conceived... Why would they need incentives? Why would sales crater? People don't like the best auto ever conceived?
