I like honey in tea
coffee seems to be a battle of tastes
bet we have a few opinions on that...

my sister's herbal tea with honey made my throat
feel better, good stuff.
coffee is more like a drug, how we wake up, hydrate since water is boring.
but water is better for us

doing leaves Thomas, sounds like a Fall job, enjoy

Peets coffee sure tastes good...little milk and my one teaspoon of sugar.
makes the first cup sweeter of course but then no more sugar
I don't think one teaspoon a day is going to drive up my AIC.
it's the incredible number of teaspoons in our food that I have to avoid.
Every box gets read for "added grams of sugar". When they are adding white sugar to
your food, which sadly seems to be done to almost everything, it's like we are all hooked on some crack sugar. When we don't get it, it doesn't taste good.
We've been conditioned to keep eating and buying, eating and buying.

I used to take my boat up the Patapsco River in Baltimore and pass the big Domino sugar plant there.
Unfortunately the substitutes the food industry has provided us have consistently been investigated to be bad for us, like me finding erithrytol in my Truvia. I'm taking heart medicine and I want to eat that chemical that is hard on the heart?
no, so I went back to plain sugar, just using it as sparingly as I can.

can anyone recommend a sugar that is not ten bucks a pound and doesn't add a lot of flavor, like honey does?
maybe I need to learn to like honey more.
put some medicinal New Zealand Manuka in the first cup.
by the second cup, probably fine.
maybe
sure don't want to muck with a good cup of coffee
In my earlier life spent several years in the design/building of plants for making Dextrose/glucose and white sugar. Today I avoid sugar and sweeteners if at all possible. When used to not using it is not missed at least my experience

Good morning,
48° now highs mid 60’s mostly cloudy and maybe a few sprinkles later today.

Nothing exciting going on just making slow but steady progress on junk clean up in the yard. Mowing needs to be done but sort of waiting for more leaves to come down, two birds one stone. Pick up critter food this morning and load the truck for a dump run later. That’s about it for the day.

Enjoy your day everyone

Good Morning,
Ct, 50 to start going to 67 ! Looks to be another nice fall day.

My youngest son wants me to take his pickup to the dump and get rid of all the garbage from the BD party they had on Saturday!

Will do some puttering around the house trying to get things ready before the cold weather comes !

Hope all have a blessed and safe day ! 🙏

Native American dream catchers
have to have a hoop in them to catch your dreams
like a net for fish
was a symbol of Native American unity.
now folks earn a living making this. Or reselling it

I wonder what Phil is making now. Glad he is marketing his extras, some would be hard to part with.

Popgadget, Ted and I passed an alpaca farm in NM. They must do ok in the heat which surprised me with all that fur. Maybe these are short hair alpacas?

64 and cloudy, rain has stopped, and heading to 73.

Rained 9 of the last 10 days. No complaints, since we had such a dry summer.

Wife got a text from our youngest son while he was at Costco up in NY...said extremely long lines and sold out of the usual popular basics like TP, much like during the C flu...said likely due to the East coast dockworkers strike, and concern over Iran attacking Israel. She was at our local Walmart, so stocked up a little bit.

Rained all day until 5 pm, so worked inside...did a very thorough cleaning of my coffee roaster...then started a batch and got an error code...did some quick troubleshooting and just needed to recalibrate the fan motor...then it ran like a charm...roasted 3 batches of brand new coffees that I know my wife will love.

Prayers for Helene victims and Israel...approaching 1 year of them getting attacked...hard to believe there are still Americans being held hostage by the terrorists.

I've never cared for sugar or cream in my coffee. Plain old black coffee works for me. Occasionally, when out to supper, an after dinner coffee with a shot of Baileys is the only time I add anything.

Morning all, 59 going to 70 and cloudy.
Got the lawn aerated. Some areas mowed
Moved stuff around to get the walk behind blower out.
One tire is flat, was dark by the time I found that. Tried wrapping bungie cords, tie down straps , no luck, but I was tired and it was dark. Put away Simplicity and massey and went inside for dinner.
Will revisit tire today.

Since I became lactose intolerant at 25, I got used to plain black coffee, never liked sugar in it.

Even though it rained for a week, it wasn't much total rain. Ground was still a bit dry for aerating. Had to use extra weight to get the tines to sink in.

BEF - looks like you are getting to see a lot on your trip. Nice pics.

Drew - the ladies will like those dreamcatchers.

Back to the grind, be well,

The port of Houston is on strike also I'll check out the local panic buying at the grocery store latter.
Thanks for the heads-up.

Good morning! 61˚F East wind, cloudless sky, heading to the 90s.

PT then grocery shop then house maintenance and get things ready for the neighborhood mega parking lot garage sale Saturday.

One of my EGO batteries started to not charge. I called them and they had me go through several test and determined the battery was defective. They sent me a new battery and it is charging for the first time now. This is the third battery to go bad in the last 10 years but they do stand behind their warranty by sending out new replacement batteries.
