Good morning!!!!

Lots of thunder, but no rain yet. First storm fizzled out, one now going south. Few drops, but nothing much.
I sprayed weed juice to encourage the rain.
At least temp has dropped. Cantaloupe plants died despite watering them. 2 weeks ago all green.

Well afternoon all, I see that I'm several pages of post behind. Still hot humid and hazy here.
Hope all are doing well.

Yesterday tried to be the day from hell for a while;
Had a doctors appointment in the morning, went out to the pickup and no start. So back in the garage and looked for my boost pak, couldn't find so took my wifes car up for that appointment. Was planning on going down to Albany from Glens Falls to pick up a piece of pipe I had ordered but didn't want to put that it her car.
Went home and looked again in a few different places for the boost pak, finally tripped across it, I had walked right by it a few times.
Hooked up the booster and the truck started right up easily. Saw a couple of error messages cross the screen and just ignored them as it all seemed fine. Had a check engine light and a traction control light. Thought well I'll just drive it and get the battery charged back up, well that didn't work out worth a damn.
Backed down and turned around and drove down the driveway, steep grade and quite long, got to the bottom and turned out on the road. What the heck the truck wouldn't up shift stayed right down in first, play with the rotary shifter with no help, drove the truck a quarter of a mile and turned around, shut it off and restarted it a couple of times with no improvement. So I decide I'll go back up to the house and get my scanner and clear the codes, well heck now I see that it will not engage the 4wd or upshift or the diff lock no matter what the rpm's do. So up the driveway I go cussing all the way as a pickup in 2wd scrabbles in the gravel loosening up the driveway especially in that low first gear.
Get up to the house and shop, now I can't find my scanner (still haven't) so get online and see how much new scanners are that are good, especially with all the new do dads on these vehicles, the electric parking brakes and air suspension and such. So I look one more time for my old scanner no go, back in my wifes car and over to Saratoga about 40 minutes to get a new scanner from Harbor Freight and got this fancy one,
(ZURICH ZR15s OBD2 Code Reader with 3.5 In. Display and Active Test/FIXASSIST)
Then back to the house, clear the codes, test drive the truck things are working again like they should. Then go dig out my load tester for the battery, well shoot this is getting to be an expensive day, battery tests almost OK but not good. Then used the fancy new code reader and it's battery test function same results and the voltage dropped really low when cranking. So back to town for a new Battery dang a Group 7N AGM battery hurts the pocket book.
Never did get down to pickup the piece of pipe I was planning on.
But it all seems good at this time, started good today and all the functions seem to be working and all the codes are still cleared.

Sounds like the harder you try the further you got behind.

Back from the airport. BIL is on his way home. What a zoo in town.... traffic was heavy, bunch of idiots!
Then I remembered that it's "tax free weekend" for back to school, that's why there's so much traffic on a Saturday morning. The state cuts all sales tax, saves a bit if you're buying for a few kids......

Lou, I am definitely glad I didn't have a day like yours! Maybe all the "bad things" just coordinated to happen on the same day. ....hopefully!

Fritz, hope you can get the collar off. Heat maybe? Did the splines get twisted?

Dennis, I am surprised that the melon vines shriveled up. Strange. Must have been really hot!

LFN, at least you got a free ticket! More than my wasted $6 got for me..... maybe that free one is the winning ticket just waiting for you!

Just had a couple of rumblings of thunder.... a couple of raindrops.... hopefully we can get a good shower.....

I have an uncontrollable urge to go take a nap.....

At least it worked out and you lived to write about it.
You know the old saying
Smile, things could be worse!
I smiled and they got much worse.

Good morning
75° and only gonna make to the upper 80’s with a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon.

Yesterday the storms actually materialized, we got over 1/2” of rain in total.

Made great progress on the old folks home, the soffit and facia work is done, the ductwork is just about complete. We left a large return duct off so the spray foam contractor has easier access. It came out pretty nice, it’s all solid ducts with no flex. I’ll get some pictures later today. I’m continually walking around trying to think of the details that need to be in place before foam insulation. Because the walls will be full of foam, any additional mechanicals are pretty much impossible after the drywall is up.
This morning, I need to go out and get some material to connect the bathroom vent to the roof outlet, and plan out the location of the built in speakers and where the AV equipment will go. Wife needs to be involved in that discussion, and she is at a farmers market now.
Have you considered running a couple of spare conduit runs for future needs.
