Beautiful picture Ron and wngsprd
Agreed and thanks for posting.

I appreciate the kind words about the Big Boy Locomotive video. My friend and I were so lucky to see it.

A few hours ago, a cougar visited our ranch house in CA. Based on slightly smaller size, I think this is a cub I saw earlier this year. Even so, it's bigger than anything I would want to tangle with and I always supervise Rigby when outside just for this reason.

Everyone have a great day !!!

Popgadget, have you ever tried the Stay Brite 8 solder and flux? Supposedly lower temp that doesn't make the copper tubing carbon up internally.

I have used similar products, but for refrigerant lines I prefer to use a high silver brazing rod without flux, and purge the lines with nitrogen to prevent any oxidation.
For water lines I generally use regular lead free solder and Oatey tinning flux.

Good morning! Today is the third day in a row for rain, very unusual. Sunday 1/3", yesterday 1/2", today .15" and more expected. 74˚F and will stay in the 70s all day, wind shifting from the N this afternoon.

Rug and drapes ordered. Will have to make this an inside day because of the rain that we need. The lower leaves are gone on my new redbud tree - hungry deer.

Good Morning,
Ct, 66 to start going to 80 ! Cloudy with the possibility of some intermittent showers. We had a storm last night but i slept through it ! Some afternoon sun possible but who knows !

Ron nice picture of the mushroom, very interesting, never saw anything quite like that !

NHBX, nice job on your F150 ! I have the Super Cab F150 and it’s been a good truck so far !

Plowhog, nice shot of the cougar on the game cam !

Got the other set of grands after 1 pm today, so hopefully the sun will come out so we can get them in the pool ! That always tires them out ! 😉

Hope all have a good day ! 🙏

Good Morning
75° and grey, and humid. Supposed to become partly cloudy with a high of 75. Without rain.

Yesterday was a long day in the old folks home. Got all of the copper soldered up in the boiler room. Still have a bit of PEX work before I can pressure test.
I took a break from the radiant heat to work on the heat pump because my mechanical contractor buddy came by to help. We got the pad set for the outdoor unit and the unit set in place. Also got the line set run, (but not brazed yet) along with the shielded communication wire to the air handler.

The copper work would have been a lot easier if I made the boiler room a little larger. The compromise was that it’s actually in the existing garage, not the old folks home itself, and I still wanted a car to fit in that bay. So I suppose it was worth the fight now that it’s done.

Electricians got the feed to the sub panel run as well as just about all the branch circuits. So far I’m impressed with their work. Today I think that they will set the panel and land all the branch circuits.

Got to get going, I’ve got hay to move and plumbing to do….

Drew will be singing, “I don’t want a pickle, I just want to ride on my motor sickle (cycle)”. - Arlo Guthrie
actually I was singing i want my 8 bucks back and they took one look at the cloudy bubbly pickle water and
promptly refunded my money. I impressed upon them the importance of checking what was on their shelf.

got crown installed, glad to be done with that. 9th one.
when I was very little dentist told me I had soft teeth, they would never be white and I'd be job
security for dentists all my life. He was right on.

I think I want to work on edging the flower beds while it's still not too hot out.
and then clean inside of rv and turn fridge on for Thursday.

new table allows just enough room for me to get by with rv slide in. With slide out, opens up floorplan a little by being shorter, though wider
when we put it together inside the rv, I used a heavy coat of Titebond III on the leg attachment area.
need to put something heavy on the feet so it doesn't rock over on hard turns and hit cabinets. Or ding itself.
trying to avoid the dings for awhile on that pretty wood.

the craftsmanship on the table is good, not great. darker area in right corner, almost like a stain, or burn
not like anyone will notice unless I point it out. Not sure if opposite corner has same issue. Top of table is flawless.

Good morning! Low of 54°, heading up to 84°. Very slight chance of a thunderstorm.
The guessers finally figured out they were calling for heavy rains and none were happening .... so they basically took all the "big chances" out of the forecast. Now they are saying Saturday will be the next "better chance"....

Phil, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! I must have missed your post.....

Ron, you had me chuckle.... It's strange how the mind works (or not works) sometimes.....

LFN, neat mushroom. Never saw one like that. A "special" one maybe? Hint...hint...

Don, you're stealing all our rain! Just kidding... good that you're getting good moisture.

Scott, have fun with the grands... hope you can get to go in the pool.

Plowhog, yeah, I would be escorting Rigby too if I saw that cougar! I am assuming that they don't mess with things like bears do?

Fritz, glad the wife's test came back as 'no change'. That's good. Shrimp looks delicious!

Paul, progress! The addition is really moving along! Great job on the boiler room. Looks plenty big for this angle....

Drew, the table looks great! Fits very good! The wifey wants to remove the 3 recliners in the RV (entertainment area) and just do a real "table and chairs" setup. We did that in the old RV and it worked great. Sorry about crown #9.... mmm.... sounds like a good drink....

Today's agenda is to work on the enclosure for the bottom of the shelving unit. Already the plan has changed.... the doors were to have metal inserts, but we decided this morning to just go solid wood and save the metal for the upcoming entertainment center doors. Then it will match the end tables I made a couple years ago. I cut the frames already, but I'm glad I didn't actually make the doors!

I hope everyone has a great day!

most rv furniture is made by the same two or three companies and it's pretty dreadful.
meant to withstand dogs and kids, think Jeep vs Audi car interior, until you spend well into the multiple hundred thousands.
I replaced that couch, was originally a jackknife couch. This is a real folding sofa.

unfortunately Ford has a proprietary mounting plate for front van seats so the aftermarket selections of seats that fit
easily is slim. So I get by with an asst of back pillows. 2019 E450
find a massaging seat for that please...

When my D-I-L was alive I had to suffer with eating mushrooms at least 3 times a week. I DO NOT like them. Any of them, magic or not and avoid them like the plague.
Guess I am not going to cut the grass today. Don't feel like it. I know I am just being lazy, but at 77 years old I can and will be as lazy as I want. I still cover about 500+ feet per day.

69°F and .64 inches rain. Not nearly as much as Mostly.

Very nice HH yesterday, awesome food. My shrimp a big hit.

Need to make both a PO and dump run this morning.

Have some project pieces ready to paint, but will have to dry out from the rain.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

79F and mostly cloudy @ 12:15, calling for a high of 83F today. Increasing clouds with periods of showers this afternoon.

Have spent the last two days mostly working on bucket/grapple project for friend.

End plates for the mounting bar/bracket required a good bit of rework due to the difference between the old vs. new bucket shape/dimensions and orientation.

Those are done and welded on as of last night, along with a pair of chain hooks.

Still have to weld the back side of the toothbar and cut and weld some straps onto the front side of the mounting bar to secure it to the top of the bucket.

Unfortunately, I'm almost out of 75/25 shielding gas ... so a trip to the local welding place is probably on the menu for later today. They closed the store I normally used, so will have to see exactly where the other location is down in Canton, as I've never been there.

Did get all the lawn mowed a couple of days ago and the bird feeders refilled.

Also put 24 mealworms out for the bluebirds as Mom and Dad seemed to be very busy keeping the hatchlings fed.

Mixed up 6 more gallons of glyphosate, got 4 gallons applied in various places.

Had set live trap out back but not baited a couple of days ago, this morning there's a small(er ?) groundhog in it. Glad they are being so cooperative.

Hope everyone is having a decent Tuesday ... (y)

edged the flower gardens, this was the before shot out front.
need to spray some roundup on the driveway weeds.
the little round green plants are Irish ivy.

taking a break before heading back out to clean the rv.
I sent the slide out this morning so I could lube the tracks.
now more floor is exposed inside so need to mop that.
Then will turn on fridge and start prepping for short trip on Thursday.

Hey Bill, your entitled to do whatever you want at your age ! Kathleen feeds me too much, so I have to walk 3 miles a day to keep it in check ! 😂

Paul, beautiful job on all that plumbing ! Coming out excellent !

Drew, the table looks great in the photo !

RS, nice work on that grapple !

Hope all have a good afternoon! 🙏

Warming up but last nights rain was good for the plants.
Went to town and paid the property taxes for the year and also paid the farm insurance.

The old scam with left over material showed up again. Used to have ratty looking people showing up with "we are working the neighborhood and we have this or that left over"
This one was slick with a formally looking truck and too well dressed young man saying we are working up the street and the paving material had failed the compression test ......Truck did not have a DOT number. Said so it is free? Oh no. Sent him on his way. I guess some people fall for it

Determined TXV valve needs replaced on the geo unit. Not easy to get to, might have to pull the unit out.

Took one cat (Tiger) in to get nails trimmed. He did ok going in, but he suddenly threw up on the ride home. We were almost home.

Got to get ready to teach a class tomorrow night.

Stress cause the ralph episode.

I found a way for me to get to town AND get fuel for the mower without a license. E-trike. $1900.oo + tax + $30.oo motorcycle helmet = $2200.oo and I gotta assemble it myself. (Which means that Junior will assemble it).
That also means I can go to the dump.

Evening all!
72 with off and on showers all day and forecast for tomorrow and Thursday.
Thanks for all the anniversary wishes!
I finally got in the part I was missing for the gift I was making for my wife. She gave me so many wows when I gave to her today I couldn't keep track of them. Lol!
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!
