I paid a lot for some shooter sunglasses with the bifocal in the top of the lenses .... now I find these stick on magnifiers which is basically the same thing if applied to the top of the lense

Anyone found decent wearing safety glasses that fit over prescription glasses? I wear safety prescription ones all the time, but sometimes need more protection. I do not want a face shield.
I wear prescription glasses and have found HexArmor LT250 safety glasses fit very well over them.

Good morning happy fathers day. My kids got me these polarized floating sunglasses from Amazon I believe, they fit great, very comfortable, and super clear with no scratches, supposedly scratch resistant they came with a strap and case. Time will tell how durable they are.

I destroy moderately-priced safety glasses too quickly to even consider expensive pairs. I have a few dozen pairs of the Harbor Freight or equivalent safety glasses in clear and smoked. I bought enough to keep them everywhere - hang one at the table saw, one at the bench grinder, one at the bandsaw, one on the tractor, mower, weedwacker, etc. Anywhere I look, there's a pair.

I also keep a pair in every tool bag and box - those ones I keep inside an old (clean) sock to prevent scratches from tools and such.

I use a polycarbonate full face shield with headgear and HF has them pretty cheap and they flip up as well.

During the covid years, my wife said factiously, "that's what we need".

So I brought in the three I had and asked if she wanted a clear or shaded one.

She never even tried one on. :D

Just got an email that work is reimbursing $115 on prescription safety glasses, ANSI 87.1; and email days "sunglasses to be worn for outdoor activities" which is about 80-90% of my work. Now, the pickings seem to be pretty slim for $115, for impact, prescription, sunglasses. Worse if you want anti scratch h, light weight lenses, and polarized. About the best deal I've found searching is $209. Also need to check at the local glasses shop, and see what cam be stacked between wife's eye insurance, and my reimbursement, and if any of their prescription sunglasses are Ansi rated.

As a note, they also decided to throw us $115 for safety toed boots; (I despise safety toes), but figured we'll, if they pay nearly 100%, I can throw them in work car incase my real boots get wet. Dang, pickings are awful slim for safety boots (min 6" rise, and ansi rated), for sub $200, let alone $115

Edit: those boots also are only reimbrusable every 2nd year... that's asking a lot out of $115 safety toe boots, when walking miles and miles, getting wet, muddy, and walking on 300 degree asphalt

I wouldn't be completely opposed to spending some over the $115, and insurance, if they are good general purpose outdoor prescription sunglasses, that are safety rated as a bonus;

I have a pair of Wiley X that I use strictly for sunglasses and love them. They fit me well and I prefer the rubber nose piece which mine have. Keep an eye out for promotions/sales on them.

I'm not following you here, Paul. Why not spend $209, take the $115 reimbursement, and enjoy your $209 sunglasses for $94 out of pocket? Still not cheap, but if they're the tool that gets the job done...
