Just got an email that work is reimbursing $115 on prescription safety glasses, ANSI 87.1; and email days "sunglasses to be worn for outdoor activities" which is about 80-90% of my work. Now, the pickings seem to be pretty slim for $115, for impact, prescription, sunglasses. Worse if you want anti scratch h, light weight lenses, and polarized. About the best deal I've found searching is $209. Also need to check at the local glasses shop, and see what cam be stacked between wife's eye insurance, and my reimbursement, and if any of their prescription sunglasses are Ansi rated.
As a note, they also decided to throw us $115 for safety toed boots; (I despise safety toes), but figured we'll, if they pay nearly 100%, I can throw them in work car incase my real boots get wet. Dang, pickings are awful slim for safety boots (min 6" rise, and ansi rated), for sub $200, let alone $115
Edit: those boots also are only reimbrusable every 2nd year... that's asking a lot out of $115 safety toe boots, when walking miles and miles, getting wet, muddy, and walking on 300 degree asphalt
