Son was moved into a more long term facility yesterday getting the only opening left.
First time we have seen him this committed. Wife had a serious talk with him about live or die before this. It was literally very close to the ending. Also lots of complaints out there about police but in this case they were very helpful and actually got him committed long enough to make a difference and the hospital was helpful in finding the placement
Pulling for your son treatment.

Currently 42F and cloudy @ 17:45, heading down to around 30F for the overnight low. Winter Weather Advisory issued. Calling for a few snow showers after midnight (30%), with more on tap for tomorrow.

Called mower shop and spoke to service writer yesterday to make sure we were on the same page. We were (hydraulic service only), said he would be up in this area on Tuesday and could drop off Cub then. Went over the bill, told him to throw a couple of spark plugs and oil filters on it and bring those along as well.

Last 3-pak of (supposedly OEM) Kohler filters I got off Amazon were not packed in the individual boxes like the previous ones which made me wonder (counterfeit ? :eek:ops

Cleaned out a new(er) 5 gallon bucket from Home Depot and got the old nyjer seed moved into it from 10 gallon Rubbermaid "Brute" can. Then put the new bag of cheap birdseed and what was left of the old seed in a 5 gallon bucket into it. Used the empty 5 gallon bucket for the new bag of safflower seed.

Future mixes for the hopper feeder will be: cracked corn, cheap birdseed, unshelled peanuts, safflower seed, sunflower hearts, and raisins. The peanuts, safflower seed, and sunflower hearts are not cheap, trying to make them go a little further.

Then refilled hopper feeder plus scattered some for the ground feeders.

Started working on wiring in garage after that.

Got a couple of backing plates cut for electrical boxes on the wall, necessary to get conduit to clear the wood trim around the windows. Some cleaning and vacuuming done as well.

Used stud finder to find out how far out the studs were from the trim and determined I had plenty of room to drill the backing plates on the centerline and still hit the studs. Used countersink to pre-drill the two plates and got one of them mounted.

Woman had mentioned She was planning on making chili earlier and prevailed on Her to try a knockoff recipe I found for Steak and Shake Chili.

For those unfamiliar, Steak and Shake's Chili seems to have much less tomato in it ... which is how I prefer my chili.

The recipe used French Onion soup and kidney beans run through a food processor as the base with only a small can of tomato sauce.

We didn't have all the ingredients of course (but we do have 14 different kinds of salad dressing in the pantry ... )so She had to run out to the grocery store.

Helped Her unload when She got back and then went back to working in the garage.

Got called back in to assist in making the chili and think I managed to use a metal utensil on one of the new non-stick pans ... 🤬

Chili turned out pretty good in my book ... not an exact match but pretty close. We did ad-lib on the recipe, adding a couple of cans of Pintos plus some refried beans to thicken it up.

Agenda for this evening:

Get the new shower base moved out of the middle of the living room floor back to the master bedroom.

Back out to the garage, get some conduit cut for the drop to the electrical boxes.

Then see how much wire is left and determine location for the last 110v wall outlet box.

Forecast is looking pretty nice starting Monday ... with sunny skies and a high of 51F, Tuesday mostly sunny again with a high of 65F, Wednesday partly cloudy with a high of 66F, and Thursday mostly cloudy with a high of 66F ... :love:

Have a few big limbs to pick up, may go ahead and core the lawn again ... plus chop up some leaves and blow those around.

Hope everyone is having a decent Saturday ... (y)

almost an inch of rain since noon, now up to 1.35" and was still raining when I went to get the mail.
Worked on Genealogy stuff today, making a posterboard for the birthday party of my family line. Not even getting into mothers side for now, just dad's side. Got it about done. Slide show is about done. It's now at 244 slides, around 22 minutes at 5 sec, math says 20.3 minutes. Just shot it with my cell camera and uploaded to youtube for the family to preview.

Greetings All, good evening to the Good Morning crowd.

I'm busy recovering from the sciatica, and though I'm not one to complain, this has been a tough one. With my cerebral palsy (since birth) already compromising my balance, this excruciating pain was almost unbearable. With forearm crutches and some heavy meds, the pain is no longer an issue. My balance is unsteady still after 5-6 weeks, but I am getting there. Basically I've had to re-train my brain to learn how to walk all over again - last time I had to do that I was much younger :) . I've been mostly homebound as the snow is difficult to manoeuvre in. I will try to get to church tomorrow.

tonight, I'm watching hockey games. I will get back here soon again. have a great night all.

biggest news is that last Friday, March 1, my daughter and son-in-law welcomed a second baby boy into the family. <3 I will try to put a photo here.

Drinking hot cup of coffee. 27° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 37 with some snow flurries and brisk NW winds. Didn't get much done yesterday. Looks like today will be the same. Maybe some NASCAR in afternoon. Did get 4 clocks that do not auto reset for DST set. Still have to do car.

Prayers and best wishes for all.

Good Morning All.

Good Sunday morning !

What a week... All positive, but passed by like speedtrain.
Old customers have shaken dust off from our old projects, completely new names came in. New sales guy is not yet much of a help, more like additional distraction. But gives good signals. I am investing my time into him

~~~~~~~~~
At North was rather cold nights, BIL have made few more early mornings runs to clarify forest completely. It's done 100 %
Now let's wait till our landing will dry, then we can process firewood. Got feeling that land is deeply frozen, during warm and sunny days only top 10 cm defrost. That gives no escape to water, so those top 10 cm are nothing but crazy mud. Don't know, maybe I feel it wrong.
~~~~~~~~~~~

Today wake up rather early. Went for shopping, recharged car.
Decided to put away winter garments. Wife is against it, says it's too early, its only mid March
At the end she is sorting massive pile of kids clothes for charity 😁
Kids are growing like weeds, I see a lot of items worn once / twice. Might be they didn't like them or forgot.

~~~~~~
For car decided to stay with new Mod3 (Highland). "Grey dealer" here offered [not very bad] trade-in. But still I decided to try to sell my old by myself. Not really myself, know a guy who is into automobiles. Actually he is software engineer, but likes talking with people, selling cars etc. Hobbyist. If we will fail to sell that car at big buck my daughter will have "new" old Tesla 😁
That's about it. Have a nice Sunday
45 going to 54 with wind over 30 this afternoon...hope the drying begins. No rain forecasted this week.
RS, chili sounds good...and yep, the bird food seems to cost more than our food.
Scaredy, prayers for your health...congrats on your granddaughter.
BEF, I bet your family will love your slideshow.
Rained all day yesterday, which forced me to do my own tax returns...efiled the fed, since TurboTax does it free, and getting a nice refund. State tax will go into the mail...I owe $5.00 and TT charges $25 to efile...dang if I'm gonna pay a 25 dollar fee to pay a 5 dollar bill. Since I'm on the subject, let me sound off about how cumbersome they make their software to handle a transaction where you are mailing your state return but efiling the fed.
I guess I could move to one of the 9 states with no state income tax, like Texas or New Hampshire.
