48 outside this AM. Heading just a little higher...lower 50's.

Plumbers and I started trenching the yard and busting concrete. So far...so good.

Hope all have a great day. Also yesterday a cold front came through and the trees really shed their leaves. Unfortunately will have to rake.

Cat approved Kubota. Part of septic and water line run. Rather than dig another trench for water tie in. Tie in at near the end of the line. Saved me a cut off switch and everything is somewhat in one place.

Good Morning
It’s 40 and likely won’t get to 50 under clear skies today. Nice to see a sunrise. Even though it was grey and gloomy all day yesterday, we only got 1/3” of rain.
I made significant headway cleaning up in the shop, even found a few bits of long lost treasure. And actually only made it about a third of the way down one bench.
We completed our mail in ballots and got them to the post office, the big voter issue is for the school board, and which philosophical direction it should go. Like almost all politics there is no reasonable middle ground, but for me it was a clear choice, one direction was more radical than the other and to me was more about agenda than education. Be interesting to see the results of the election.

Today will start with breakfast with the professor, then back to the shop. Someone is coming to pickup a speaker today, I’m waiting for UPS to bring me some hardware to get the other one out the door.
I need to direct some attention upstairs to tidy up for a two day training class that I have to conduct Wednesday and Thursday. Fortunately, I created power point lessons that I use, makes it a lot easier, and I don’t miss any thing. So hopefully, it’s just pull down the screen, and lecture along with the slides.

Looks like there is one more mowing this year, then I can park the mower, and remove the rear deck to rebuild it. I have the stainless plate ready to weld in after I remove the gearbox and spindles. And of course I’m sure that I’ll have to trim it to fit, as I made it slightly oversized.

Might try to squeeze a Costco run in today as well, depending when the customer wants to pickup his speaker.

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

47.4 F barely going to 50s, cloudy then sun. Happy Halloween!!!!

lots of leaves down!

Yesterday was continuation of anniversary activities, we went to Pigeon Forge and made his-and -hers knives Iron Mountain Metal Craft, which is owned by contestant Robby Bowman on the Forged In Fire show.

most of the pix are on Mrs’ phone, I have to have her send them to me, including the one from the ghost hunt the other day…

Then we went to the Paula Deen Lumberjack Feud dinner show in Sevierville. The show is outdoors but the bleachers are under cover and have heaters, so Mrs was happy. The events Are not undercover, so they had to perform in the chilly drizzle. just Like real forewtry workers.

then the obligatory trip to Buc-ees. regular gas was 2.829 there!
today will be an energy-conservation day, Minton household tasks at most.

Harry returns tomorrow — Bailey needs to enjoy her last day of peace!

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe productive blessed day!

confirmed my friend bringing his almost new Kubota LX to the school workday this Saturday.
includes bucketing some piles of leaves in Buckingham Meeting's graveyard.
I will be there to provide moral support and do my best to avoid weeding like last two years.

I told him to be extra careful not to run over any gravestones....
bad juju :)

another unpleasant alarm clock this morning
for second morning in a row, woke up early to no power
I can hear all the neighborhood gens going so as usual nothing to do with this property.
same as yesterday, more than 600 homes out of power

adding to my morning grumpiness was the fact that when I hit start on gen, standing outside in dark with a flashlight, all I heard was a whizzing sound.
starter not engaging. Did that five times, no joy. Took slack out of pull rope and worried about having my arm yanked off,
gave this big engine a pull. Started right up to my delight. Now I have to figure out why starter is not engaging. Later this morning I'll get a hammer and tap
on the starter. Might get lucky.
I really need to get an automatic gen. Spending ten grand on a rental house generator is not wise unless I stay here a long time.

only plans for today are a haircut this morning
correction, freeze warning out for tonight. Means all the green peppers get picked today. Will chop them up and freeze them.
hope you all have a nice day

c'mon coffee pot, hurry up...........
Morning to all;
I don't see why an automatic generator couldn't be placed on a moveable platform with a couple of flexible conduits connecting to the rental house, and even the transfer switch could be installed with removal in mind.

On another note the other day before the wet weather started I stopped part way down the drive and took a couple of pictures of the leaves falling and drifting down.

quite the carpet of leaves,

leaves falling like large snow flakes, still half of them to drop
driveway 6.jpg

Haven't been out since Saturday to see what the driveway looks like. Will be going out this afternoon. my wife has a cardiologist appointment prior to hip replacement Thursday.
Hope to get the driveway weeds clipped one more time before snow falls, maybe even raked and blown.
