You need a steam-powered lawnmower that is fired by non-methane unicorn farts.

I believe Don has an EGO so he might be considered part of the problem, depending on who you talk to.

64° and 99% humidity.
Ron, 22kwh day very low, I haven’t been that low since I was building my house. First hit 40kwh per day in 2005. Hit 50kwh in 2013, 60 in 2014, 70 in 2015, am currently at 60.8kwh day. Before geothermal install in 2012 the avg was 39.4.
Numbers based on 12 month average. Sometimes in the fall I will have a single month average in the 20s, but summer can hit the 80s kWh per day.
Think I’m gonna like the deco mesh system. Down to just 1 thermostat that won’t join, but it had dropped off the old network about a week ago, so maybe it has other problem. Kitty liked the box.

The elephant in the room is the millions of new people suddenly in the country. Our infrastructure can’t support such a sudden change.
The biggest elephant are the new electric vehicles. People get home and plug in at the worst time. Even Elon Musk said there isn't enough energy to charge all the cars. Wind power creates large environmental dump zones too, with all the blades.
Last time (3 winters ago) they were doing maintenance on some power plants and then it was cloudy and snowing so the solar was not putting out. This time was exactly like my quote. - The sun does not shine after sunset and it still in the 100s and the winds died down. Your statement about green energy helped avoid blackouts yesterday is partially correct - they did while the sun was shining and the wind was blowing. Yesterday after sunset showed the problem of depending on green energy - it is not always there when you need it.
Yep.

RNG, I would maybe not have chosen the coop for electricity. If there is a shortage, small coops have to buy on open market that has price gouging. What may seem a good deal can turn into a disaster. I don't know enough details to give accurate advice in your situation.

Our infrastructure is failing due to money being dedicated to giveaway programs not taking care of business so to speak

Next Wednesday the high is predicted to be only 88˚- break out the jackets.
Good Morning Guys,
67 to start high of 84 with a chance of showers later. Looking at the Vermont porch camera, the hummingbirds have been busy, getting ready for their long trip down south !

Buppies,
Yes so true, but obviously we are not learning from our past mistakes !

Don,
At least you can find some humor is 70 plus 100 degree days ! Dont know how you guys do it ! :)

All have a blessed and safe day !

Good Morning Drew,
I can not imagine you driving your motor home through deep mud, knowing the way you take care of that vehicle, especially with two wheel drive !:D

Good Morning
70 with a high of 90 and likely thunderstorms this evening.
Yesterday they got close, but we only got .03” of rain.

Yesterday was another day of zoom and completing forms on the computer. Did make it to HF for the high lift jack, and tended the smoker. Meat came out about 3pm after taking 20 hours to get to temp.

These were the pork shoulders, forgot to get a pic of the brisket.
The firefighters had a great meal, and were very appreciative.

Today starts with zoom at 9, another one at 11. Hopefully that will be the bulk of the day’s administrative chores. Then I can actually be productive, although I’m not sure what I’ll be producing yet.

Morning all;
Well we did not break 90 yesterday just got to 89F with 86%rh, then the thunderstorms blew in. High winds downpours of rain numerous power outages, trees and limbs down.
The 10 day is looking like thunderstorms for the next few days then possibly some normal temps after that.

My contractors have finally just about finished the stone work for the house and should be starting the trim work and then the siding next week. Hopefully one of these days the end of $$$$$$$$$ just flying away is getting near.

The PVC conduits are hopefully going to save me some work and aggravation this winter,
when we poured the new concrete slab and step we placed electric heat mats in the
concrete. This area is on the northeast side of the house and the sun never gets to the concrete
in the winter so it has always been almost impossible to keep this walk clear of ice in the winter,
without tons of ice melt and chipping we shall see what happens this winter.

Wishing all a safe and healthy end to the normal work week,
and those that have to work every day, farm on.

A screen shot of the National Grid power outages still out as of this morning;

Fortunately mine only blinked a few times, got to sit inside and watch the downpours. I'll go check the driveway in a while and see how bad it is.

Morning all, 72 going to 91 and cloudy. Lots of lightning last night, no rain

Mini-split , hole finished, head unit up. Need to finish wire and plumbing/sealing, we'll see if I can finish today.
Little diamond hole saw bit worked really well, chipped the last bits with hammer and chisel.

for all those buying power monitors etc. If they don't have UL or other certifications, they are NOT safe. Too many reviews of these meters getting hot or burning.
UL does not guarantee 100% safety, but at least the company went through the trouble of testing.

Be well,
