Good morning!!!!

Thanks Mostly and Buppies for the prayers for my son, he woke up in much better condition. Now he can walk, just gimpy.

I'm going in late today. Will leave in another 30 minutes or so.

The other morning when it was 73F here, I nearly needed a jacket. Acclimated. Electric bill was $9 less than last month. Only $373. Those 109F days take their toll.

We have 100° predicted for Monday-Wednesday next week.
Since wife emptied ranger bed I might start trimming forsythias that are way overgrown. Need to just take pole saw to the ones along the trees. First breakfast.

Good Morning
62 with a high of 75 under clear skies for today.
Yesterday was also a gorgeous day.
Fortunately, I spent a lot of it outside.
Got the mowing done, grandson helped, we moved hay, picked up sticks and cut up limbs and pushed them back into the hedgerows.
He knows the drill, went and got the blower to clean off the mower, then he folded the decks up so we could park it. Reminded me to fuel the tractor and blow the screens out before we parked it. Once it was parked, he walked around it, and said to me “it’s good Paul”. Some how my kids are uncle or aunt, wife is Nanni, but I’m Paul. I’m fine with it and actually amused.

Got a little RC flying in with his dad before hauling the trash and recycling to the street and calling it a day.

Today is off to a slow start. Waiting for the FAA to show up, they called and might be late or have to reschedule due to an accident in NJ. That will delay my planned Costco run, but I don’t have a lot else planned for the day.
I have to replace a leaking T&P valve on a friend’s water heater, but that’s it, other than more TSA paperwork.

Hopefully going to play music tonight, put some meatballs and sauce in the crock pot.

Good Morning!!!! 67F @ 6:15AM. Cloudy and damp with rain this morning...then becoming partly cloudy. High 74F. Winds SSE at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 90%.
So far, there's not been enough rain to even wet the concrete on the driveway. Kinda hope it either turns into a gully washer, or just stops. As it is, it's just cementing the dust to everything, making a huge mess.

I didn't take a close look at the paperwork yesterday, Kyle, so I don't know off hand what the registration fee is. I did see over $5K in "use tax", same as I would of paid had I purchased the vehicle in Kalifornia.

The trailer I purchased last week came with a Montana license plate, so I showed the paperwork to the DMV clerk yesterday and asked what it would take to register it in California. He said I was missing the bill of sale between the guy I purchased the trailer from and the person he purchased it from, who was the one listed on the Montana title. I found it when I got home, so I'll be making another DMV trip sometime in the near future.

The aluminum I need for the wheel balancer adapter showed up yesterday, only one day after I ordered it from McMaster-Carr. Not bad.

Also got some air in the tires of the motorcycles we'll be loading today, and used the shop vac to sweep up the decorative gravel under the Norton. It's there to soak up oil drips under an English bike that supposedly doesn't have any oil in it.

Got two more rivnuts under the tie down anchor plate, and the last one turned into a mess. I didn't get the rivnut in tight enough, so the bolt started spinning when I installed it. Then the bolt wouldn't come out. Eventually I got it squared away, but pretty sore from being bent double for a couple hours down there on the floor. Put the rivnut installation tool back into the other rivnuts and gave them an extra hard squeeze for good measure.

Slow cooked a rack of St. Louis style ribs on the BBQ yesterday, somewhat offsetting the rivnut trouble. Enjoyed an ear of fresh sweetcorn with it, too.

TGIF folks!

Good morning! Low of 54°, but heading up to 90°, about 8° above our 'normal' high for this time of year. Supposedly going to hover at the 90 mark all next week.
Unfortunately, also no rain.......

Speaking about no rain.... I realized that I haven't cut the fields since last year..... only a few tall grass sprigs....everything else is just crunchy.

Kilroy, you cracked me up with the asteroid pics.....

Kyle, sorry to hear about the son's pain. Hopefully he'll get relief soon.

David, glad Sophie is back and the 'boys' are now happy... I bet you are too!

Buppies, hope you can get the sugar levels down. Any clue as to why it's gone so high?

Thomas, you should start charging admission for the show...

Successful day gathering materials yesterday, but frustrating to say the least. Had to get the store manager involved to get the employees motivated.... at least I got a discount for the hassle.

Today's agenda will be to unload and stage the material, reroute the drip line, and possibly start to dig the hole to transplant the pesky shrub.

I hope everyone has a great day and start to the weekend!

Popgadget, only one word. Priceless.

after PT, went to supermarket to get my cheap corn.
It was ice cold, must have come up in a reefer from down South, this was not local corn.
will take four of the 20 ears I bought for 4 bucks and give them to elderly lady across street.
She and her handicapped SO are on a tight budget, I try to help when I can.
80 cents worth of corn will get a satisfying ROI for a retired financial guy... ;)
I asked what a case was, they thought it was 48, too much for me.

for my current dining, I'll buy the 70 cents an ear from the local farm stands.
Silly to eat old when you can have fresh. Old(er) goes into the freezer for a pot roast this winter.

4 minutes for three ears in microwave. Trying to figure out which is easier for bulk, I have a really big pot for the stove too.
That's a lot of energy to use heating up all that water.
Actually likely to use less energy cooking corn in microwave.
and I've been happy with the microwaving results.

I sharpen my good butcher's knife and chop off the ends
of the ears, just exposing the kernels.
I normally do 3 1/2 minutes for two ears.

and then all those husks have got to get out of the house.
they really start to smell quickly

too nice a day outside to be cooking corn, will do that later.
it's one of those super nice dry days out with a cool morning to start.
you just want to bottle it
and have a slug next week when it's 95 here.

gosh, if it's going to be that hot here,
what will it be like in Texas?

Don, what does your ten day say?

Paul, what a good grandson. I could never get my 2 sons interested in tractors. Oldest says he wants to live where he doesn’t need a tractor, and I say I live here so I can. Right now 3 tractors in the barn and one at dads.
Got one forsythia trimmed way down. No before pic, but hauled 3 loads to other side of creek to my brush pile.
2 hummingbirds battling for the feeder. Starting to see the red under the neck
