Don, good breakdown on your high temps. One thing our weatherman did once, was a breakdown on the lowest high temps...something not often reported...but amazing how even though there are hot days, some record breaking, there have been other days that broke the record for being the lowest high on record for the date.

Looks like the forecast is for the hurricane to downgrade to a trop storm before California.

Spent most of the day doing inside paint prep and painting the primer coat. Today apply the finish coat, which might finish me. But I need to get outside and enjoy the weather.

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

58Fgoing to low 80s.

anecdotally, this summer has been one of the “coolest” for our location, with temps in the 90s only two days so far.

Truck is spending the weekend at the shop, I am a big fan of “The Triangle” and in most cases “fast” is not the one I pick (although cheap would be nice once in a while… it never seems that cheap is really option anymore…).

opened up hives, one was ready for another medium box, the other barely had drawn comb in the first medium I put on last month. So even though it is summer I will probably start feeding some syrup to give that hive a boost. No obvious signs of any problems. I may have a more experienced beekeeper come and do an inspection with me in a week or three.

I have to pick up some new exterior doorknobs, the ones we have are original to the house and are sticking terribly and hard to turn, and Mrs. Is really having problems with her arthritis… and thanks to YouTube University I can now remove our old cylinders and swap them into new handle sets and keep the same keys. So that will be a trip to BigBoxBlue today. I should get some more boiled linseed oil to treat all the tool handles for the fall.

Outside chores done E muffin time.
Wife and I setting on the deck last wife spotted Little Boo slowly walking towards the apple trees than disappear into the woods,couple mins. later Little Boo came running from the woods across the front field making lot of distance from BIG Boo BIG Boo stop the chase halfway of the front field return back to clean up rest of fallen apples....Mrs. and trouble focusing camcorder of the action...dang it.

Plans for today...talk trimmer for nice walk maybe mower lawn here and there that needs it.

Good Morning
It’s 60 with a high of 75 and sunny. A nearly perfect day in my opinion.

Yesterday was spent doing repairs and finding more damaged stuff from the lighting strike.
Apparently the limb that was burning Monday that I doused with water was a symptom, not the disease. My DIL and grandson were out for a walk and saw smoke coming out of a tree about 50 feet in the air. Apparently the tree was partially hollow and was burning, another limb burned off and was on the ground smoldering as well. After consulting with the fire chief, he said to call 911 so they would dispatch them. They came with a pumper and a field truck, and of course the police responded as well, even though I made it clear it was a non emergency.
Grandson had a great time, he had been in the Pumper before, and knew right where the air horn was. He made sure he had on his fire hat, and was part of the crew.
Hopefully it’s out now. I called someone to climb the tree and top it just to be sure.
After that excitement, I went back to replacing the camera in the barn. I set it all up on a laptop before putting it up, but it gave me fits once it was on the network. Turned out to be an IP conflict. The address for the camera was assigned by DHCP to another device when the router was reset. I try to set up as much as I can with fixed IP to avoid that.
Drove a ground rod at the barn just for the Ethernet cable, and checked that one off the list. Hopped on the Lazer and finished the mowing that I started Thursday. Had a great time with the band, and slept like a baby afterwards.
Son just called me, he wants me to come down with the tractor and grapple for what ever he is doing. Grandson is on his way up to help me.

Drew, sorry you had issues with MRI ! I had to have one last year at our local hospital. Long story short, I got there the morning of appointment after having filled out an extensive form detailing my previous back surgeries! I was at the location that had the most powerful MRI machine in the system ! Problem is, I have a Harrington Rod in my back, and this machine could have caused me significant problems if I had the MRI on that machine ! I informed them them previously on the form before I had gotten there ! I guess no one read all of that. So I ended up having to reschedule to another less powerful machine ! Would have liked to see the expression of the MRI operators face had the rod in my back come flying out in that procedure! Well maybe not, I would be dead ! Best of luck in the future !
