Good morning!!!!

Good Morning!!!! Another morning at a frigid 60F! Abundant sunshine. High 91F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

Whoever owned my previous house spread hardware cloth along the fence line, then coated it with mortar, then a layer of dirt. When landscapers came along to redo the yard later, they had a heck of a time getting the stuff picked up and removed. Something like that would probably stop whatever's trying to get under the fence, too, Ted.

Pretty sure Bell moved to Europe several years ago to get away from US regulations and ambulance chasing lawyers. And I think they even stopped making motorcycle helmets. Sad story for the company that practically invented them.

A dose of DeOxIt might revive that cranky switch, David...

Usta be able to say I'd been hurt far worse in bicycle crashes than on a motorcycle, but then a guy went left of center on his Suzuki and hit me head on. Broke my wrist and leg, he didn't make it out of the hospital. Still riding motorcycles on the street, but haven't been on a bicycle in many years. Maybe change that at the new place, but it'll probably be a mountain bike and off road.

Appraiser said yesterday he'll deliver his report today. I found a home a bit smaller than the one in escrow yesterday, that has a 700 sq. ft. garage in a backyard big enough to enlarge the garage a good bit. The inside has been upgraded to like new. 100K less than the one in escrow. I told the real estate agent I wanted a zoom tour, but he said he's out of town until Tuesday. WTF?!? The last realtor got let go for pulling the same stunt. If the appraisal comes out low enough, I'll cancel it and go after this new place, with a different realtor.

While we're covering bad news, I found a crack in the new van's windshield a few days ago, so got a quote off the SafeLite website. $250 if it could be repaired, $2500 if it has to be replaced. Tried to get someone there to look at a photo of the crack, but they couldn't be bothered. A buddy recommended a local glass company, and I've heard through their radio ads that they have the equipment to recalibrate all the cameras and sensors that are glued to the windshield. Gave them a call and they can do it for half of SafeLite's price. I'll still be out $1K, my insurance policy's deductible. RAM dealer says 6 weeks out on a new windshield, and there are none on the aftermarket yet. Hope that crack doesn't run. Gotta make a grocery run today, so I'll swing by the glass shop with the van to make sure the windshield really needs replaced.

I did get some good news. Farmer's is still writing policies in California, and they'll insure the escrow house for $1200/year. And I got two other quotes in the $2K range. So made some headway there.

Started the day by refilling five picnic bottles full of propane. On one the valve leaked, to it's on the BBQ and will go back to Home Depot for an exchange when it's empty.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

Planning the visits by German diplomats is interesting because the auto reply comes back with for month of August we don't answer emails or phones because of vacation.
Maybe we have something to learn here about time off?

Usta get a month of vacation at my old job, Fritz. One year I took all my vacation at the end and a bunch of the next year's vacation at the start, and spent 5 weeks riding around England and Scotland on a Norton. But I wouldn't want to go to Europe in August when everybody and their brother is on vacation. Imagine the crowds!

76F and sunny @ 10:30, heading up to around 85F for the day's high. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible this afternoon. HI 76F, DP 61F, HU 62%, AQI 113.

Was greeted by a pair of buzzards over on the lawn east of the garden area. They were feeding on a raccoon carcass and took off as soon as they noticed me. Not sure how or why the raccoon carcass got there.

One was still perched on branch back at the edge of the yard last evening ... probably waiting for us to go inside. Hopefully they will have it cleaned up by the time we get out there today.

Made a little more progress yesterday, 25 strawberry plants put in the ground plus another 8 holes dug:

Did not get any feeders refilled though ... :(

Today promises to another good day.

On the agenda:

Dole out another week's worth of meds.

Finish up strawberry planting (hopefully)

Maybe get Kentucky Field Pumpkins planted as well.

Work on tomato cages.

Refill Water Buffalo.

Refill feeders.

Plus whatever else comes up.

Bunny rabbits:

Hope everyone is having a decent Thursday ... (y)

Good morning! Low of 63°, heading towards 93°. Temps slowly increasing by the weekend. Temps by Sat. forecasted to be close to triple digits, continuing all next week.

We got one little sprinkle yesterday, but not enough to register in the gauge. After today, rain chances are minuscule at best.

Buppies, prayer sent your way for the plan to work out. Hope you can get to a good solution.

RNG, that sounds like a good solution, I was thinking of using some 2" thick 8"x16" paver block up on edge, buried 4-6" in the ground. This way easily removable if needed.
The hole did not reappear Tuesday night, but was present this morning.....

Drew, Stelantis will be installing the new straight 6 twin turbo engines in the Ram p/u soon (Maybe by the end of the year). Lots of power and torque.

I have been considering a new truck for about the last year. F150, Tundra, and Ram were contenders, with the Tundra checking more boxes than the others....
Then finding out about this engine put the brakes on the search. I will wait until at least being able to test drive a Ram with this engine.

Motorcycle accidents..... BTDT.... in my younger days, I had 3 accidents, the first just a minor drop on some gravel... the next 2 each getting progressively worse, and inflicting more body damage.... gave up riding for 15 years

Then I had this crazy notion to get another bike.... bought a Goldwing. Wifey and I enjoyed a few long trips on it. Then commuting to work on it, started having 'close calls' driving in the big city..... didn't ride for almost a year, so just sold it. I don't have any more interest in riding.....

Didn't install any of the drip emitters yesterday, wifey made a point of not being able to use that zone if I can only get half changed out. I'll use "as is" until all the parts come in.

We ended up trimming a bunch of low hanging branches on about 8 trees. Then cleaned up all the branches and made a few trips over to the burn pile with the tractor. Too dry to fire it up, burn restrictions in place.

Grocery shopping and piddling around the shop is all that is on the agenda for today.

Everyone have a great day!

69°F and .32 inches rain.

Time management not my strong suit yesterday. Grass still calling for attention, but daily progress works. Maybe get all the interior areas done today.

125.3 gal of propane delivered. Excited to wait for that bill.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

62 going to 80, maybe some much needed rain.

Prayers for you and your wife, Buppies.

BEF, I hiked the AT in Botetourt yesterday, so probably wasn't far from your Virginia land. Cooler temps felt good.
Cool, down to route 11?

We on way back. Rain all the way. Might stop at lot to put batteries in camera, if not raining too hard.
