Good morning!!!!

Morning all, 71 going to 81, and lower humidity at 84%
A drop more rain/wind last night to keep the trend going.

Did a lot of weed whacking and thinning, spent a few hours before the heat got me.
Also did some driveway patching, but didn't have much patch, the last floods really messed up the skirt by the road.

Today pool work and bench, and some other jobs around the yard. Maybe cut the grass if dry enough.

Saw Haunted Mansion last night, think they did a pretty good job.

Running late, off to the pool to shock and clean.

Be well,

Mom and fawn watching me from the front woods.

Good Morning!!!! 70F @ 7:15AM. Sunny. Hot. High around 100F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Decisions, decisions, Chris. Hard to make a bad one under those circumstances!

Yesterday morning I was up before the sun, so I got the little electric pressure washer out and cleaned up the Toyota first, then the RAM. Used the foam cannon, turning both of 'em pink. Lots of bugs on the front of both, lots of elbow grease with the microfiber to get 'em off. As usual, I missed a few. Rinsed with the PW, noticing that every once in a while the pressure would drop for a few seconds, then start up again. Hope it's not slowly dying. Used a giant micro fiber towel to dry 'em both off, gosh that thing is thirsty.

That done, I dragged out the giant extension ladder and got it up on the end of the house. Up I went, slowly so it didn't bounce, got the drip tube up, then had to take the ladder down again. Did I mention how heavy that thing is? Moved it over to the other end, spliced enough tube together to finish. then up down up down repeat until it was all in place. Why are my legs so tired? Pulled out my phone and turned on the water, fixed a few leaks, had to replace a few sprinkler heads, too. But didn't have to put up the big ladder again. Whew!

Had some lunch, then hooked up the steel cable to the new dead man up at the gate. Got it good and tight, but didn't get the gate level. Not enough courage to risk breaking the turnbuckle. By then the temps were into the mid 90s, time for more water, and a nap. Rough life.

Still really hot out, so mixed up a margarita, slipped into some running shorts and flip flops, and headed out to the patio. Sat in the sun for a while sipping, ducked under the shower when it got too hot, rinse, repeat. BBQed some chicken for dinner, once again found nothing worth watching on TV.

One of my motorcycle buddies is stopping by for a visit this morning, and I think I'll take a stab at installing the new speakers in the van. Not sure what else the day will bring.

Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday!

this went pretty easily
very nicely packed, someone clearly thought this out
had to tighten seat adjustment three times, afraid to over tighten the ratchet but finally got it tight enough it
would not move. seat height needs fiddling with. Brakes worked great, lights front and rear.
accessories kit not in yet, storage racks, fenders and larger front light.
took it for a ride around the house, went way faster than I wanted on position one of five.
can't really test it til I get on the road with a helmet on.

tires said 35 psi, I put in 30. Battery was basically fully charged when it came.
nice when they work right out of the box. I ordered a small amount of dry chain lube.

had to laugh at the tires that came on it, based on my earlier concerns over puncture proofing.
The tires were labeled Hippo Tough with some aramid inner liner.
never met a hippo. (y)

I'll go back out later for another ride but just being patient until helmet comes in.

Still really hot out, so mixed up a margarita
sounds like a fine idea RNG

Could you pull it with the tractor to get it level, and then tighten the turnbuckle?

meteor showers late tonight
have to live pretty far out and away from "city lights" to see them.

in our little town there was a telescope manufacturer called Questar. I think they still may be in business on a very small scale.
I think one of these hooked up to Ron's best camera could count the whiskers on the man in the moon's beard...

when one is up in the mountains, one can see a million stars up there.
I wonder what's out there.
truly an enduring mystery

I think David/Sodamo would have a great night sky

69°F and 0 rain. Looks like we may get some this morning.

No big plans for the day. Energy conservation seems appealing before doing my bike and having coffee.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Drew, we do have a great night sky - sometimes. At 1100ft elevation our cloud cover varies a lot, not just day to day, but during the course of the day and night. Times we can’t see anything, but when it’s clear WOW, even see the Milky Way. Almost no light pollution. We get the ISS alerts and still find it awesome to traverse the sky.

The best pad for easily removing bugs on vehicles is a 3M-Scotch Brite Dobie pad. It does not scratch the surface, paint or glass. We use them to wash dishes and then I save the old ones for vehicle bug removal.
