Morning all, 77 going up to 92 and sunny.
Allergies in full swing.
Got a bunch of weeding done yesterday after work, was around 100 and full on humidity, that wore me out fast. Need to do more cleanup work today.
Did get another coat of varnish on bench, need to sand and add another coat today.

When I "store" my pictures, I do it by year and on the phone (android) it has the date in the name ex. 20230728_ so the year folders work pretty well.

Big storm with some heavy , but short rains came through last night, right while driving to town to pick up son from work. Maybe 1/3" rain, but the wind was knocking down small branches and leaves adding to the fun dark drive.

Hang in the Scaredy, hope this moves forward so you can get to the next phase of living.

I learned how to ride on a little Kawasaki enduro, great little bike. Never got my license though.

Great to hear from you LS- Where are the pics?

Well, out to do work in the yard before it's melting temp.

Be well,

It is sweltering 81F here in Deer Isle. Maine is GREAT. There is lots to do. We finally got the sailboat launched and motored up to the mooring. We had a great first sail in the afternoon. I am really enjoying spending relaxed time with my wife. Life don't go on for ever so you got to enjoy it while you can.

76F and mostly cloudy @ 11:00, heading up to around 81F for the day's high. HI 77F, DP 68F, HU 81%, AQI 37.

Got some green and yellow wax beans soaking first thing yesterday for planting today.

While Woman was on Her outing, I ran down to the corner gas station yesterday and got 4 gallons in the can for the Cub, also filled up Her car.

After I got back I went over and got the Cub out of the barn and then refueled it ... then went ahead and ran the core aerator down here around the house to take advantage of the wet ground, got all except for the northern corner of the east side done.

Woman returned while I was coring and came around back to find out what I was doing.

Apparently they hit a couple of estate sales in addition to stopping by Habitat Restore, Woman scored a really nice foot massager for cheap that appeared to be in like new condition ... (y)

Once the coring was done I mixed up some bird seed and refilled the hopper feeder + plus scattered some cracked corn for the ground feeders.

After that I started locating tools and supplies for the Cub service and got the oil draining and removed the oil filter.

Woman suggested starting a fire for some hamburgers so I got that going while the oil was draining. Once the fire was hot I grilled up the patties. These were pre-made patties She had picked up (not what we normally do) but they ended up being pretty good. I had one single and one double.

She also heated up some Bush's Baked Beans and made some sort of dish with squash which I didn't try.

After dinner I replaced the pre-filter on the Cub air cleaner with the cleaned one, cleaned out the air filter housing, put filter back in, and installed the new oil filter and refilled the crankcase with fresh Mobil 1 0w30.

Then drove it back over to the barn since they were calling for thunderstorms overnight.

This morning the promised thunderstorms rolled through but I apparently slept through most of the show. Did get woken up around 05:20 by a Dangerous Thunderstorm Alert and bunch of lightning and thunder but the storm was mostly to the east by that point.

LWS says they got 1.49" of precip from that, but doesn't show anything for yesterday ... so I'm guessing the downpour we got yesterday was pretty localized. All told I'm guessing we got close to 2" ... which should go a long ways towards making up the yearly deficit we have had.

Possibility of a stray shower/thunderstorm in the next hour or two and then clearing.

Grass will be going nuts.

Marking out and melting holes in the weed block fabric for the beans and getting them planted on agenda for today. Hopefully get holes melted for strawberries while we're at it.

Also move remainder of a pallet of mulch around back with the Kubota so Woman can start mulching flowerbed.

Beyond that, whatever else comes up.

Hope everyone is having a decent Saturday ... (y)

I do that on my computer. I use a script that pulls date from the picture.
Once I figured out the way to transfer back to the iPhone, it went real quick.

102˚ today
That's a project alright! It's hard to find parts, but some are sometimes available on ebay. Many of the old 2 strokes need a complete engine rebuild due to internal corrosion. If it's corroded on the lower rod bearing, it means a chankshaft rebuild. OTOH, if it has been ran in the last few years, maybe not? Looking at the tires, I would venture a guess that it was bought, and parked with low miles. Do you know any history of it? Also, without a title, the value is greatly diminished. It looks like it could be a great neighborhood runabout bike if you want to try and get it going. We would be glad to give you advice if you go that route. I would be interested if the price was really low.
Prayers for your family on your loss. Another good friend's father is in hospice right now.

LS, wonderful job on the landscaping. If you get another bought of stress, talk to us. And you can come work on my yard, it is at least as dry as yours...and with all your desert landscaping experience....

Scotty, put a cap in it. They do go bad. It can be other things wrong though. My old twin cylinder compressor takes a lot of power just to turn over. It does not spin easily. So I make sure I turn off the breaker to it after using it.

I've missed a lot of posts. Pray all is going well as can be. Buppies, LS, Drew, Billy's knee, Sophie, and the rest of our crew.

70°F and .04 inches rain.

Off to town this morning to meet friends for breakfast. Our 1st time breakfast at this restaurant. Friends go back home tomorrow but return this fall.

Not sure what I’ll get into when we return, but probably nothing to serious.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Don, I have some tools you could borrow if you want to work on it yourself.

Well, I didn't win the Texas Mega Million lottery. Haha, I did buy 2 chances. First time I've paid my idiot tax in over 15 years. Nobody won it, it's going to go over a billion.

I have resorted to watering my 2 pecan trees, and 1 oak that my home depends on for shade in the late evening. The rest of the yard is crunchy with cracks.

Good morning from green Colorado! Not sure of the low temp, but similar to at home. Unfortunately, today's high temp here will be close to 100°.... at home it is only forecast to hit 92°.

This area is almost as dry as back home right now. It's still a bit greener here, but you can see it's barely holding on, starting to get brown. Surprisingly odd for this area.

Got notifications that a couple packages were delivered "on the porch" back home. I never had UPS or FedEx put anything on the porch..... I hope they did this time because a storm supposedly rolled past last night.....

The drive up yesterday was uneventful until we got to Pagosa Springs.... flagmen, barricades, signs advising "road work next 30 miles"..... added an hour to to trip time.

The new granddaughter is adorable! I forgot how small little newborns are. She's really quiet, hardly any crying, but coos and goos and smiles at everyone. Really happy baby. Gaining weight exponentially.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Congrats on new grand daughter!
