Hello everyone I am looking at a small utility tractor to buy to work around my property I have found a used one it is a 2017 GC1705 with 710 hours. They are asking $12,500 I don't have any pics yet but the one I saw on the ad it looked very clean but only one pic. is that a fair price or let me know what you guys think. Oh it has a loader that comes with it and the tires look good.

Thanks weeder

That's high for the amount of hours. That is what they cost new.

8-9k

Well that is what I was afraid of I really didn't know the selling price of new ones, if the tractor looks and runs good I will try to dicker with him if not so be it it is his tractor keep it. Also what are the pros and cons of the GC1705?

The 1705-1720 models were made in Japan. They had very few issues and were very well made. Almost bombproof.

The new ones are manufactured in India I believe. There was some growing pains.

For reference: I paid 17,900 for a GC1710 in 2017. I remember vividly that a 1705 could be bought for 11,900 at that time.

To use the loader safely, you will need a counterweight on the back, whether a boxblade, weight box, or home made suitcase weight (250-400 lbs ideally).
Price seems high without a mower deck for the hours. Nothing to rush into.
Take some more pictures.

Check tractorhouse.com. I concur that the Massey made in Japan are very reliable. Had one for 5 yr.

What comes on it for that price?

If loader and mower, not a terrible price but try and get it for $11,500.

Ask him how he maintained it and how often he changed the oil. If it's been maintained 700 hours is nothing

No only the loader and nothing else.

Also, he will put a bucket leveler on there for me. what you guys think? I have some pics coming not good sharp ones tho my phone sucks.

Well it surprised me that some are asking over $12000 for these, but some I see in that range have a mower.
I only paid 16k new for the 1720 with backhoe.

How much would delivery cost for you?
How does it sound when run up to green/PTO speed?
Does it have all the three point hardware?
Does the loader seem like it was greased recently?
When was maintenance last done, oil, hydro oils changed, filters etc.
Any drips after a drive?

Delivery is free, PTO speed was fine, yes it has 3-point hardware, no leaks, well-greased and maintained, the tractor has always been serviced by the implement company. They said he was a lawyer and only used in his spare time.

Too much for no mower, age and hours.
You can get a new one for not much more with 5 year warranty and dealer backing.
My 2007 only has 350 hrs cutting well over an acre of my lawn and a number of years cutting the neighbors similar patch.

Well around here in the farming community it is hard to get a bargain!!!

In central Il that does seem like going price. Not much better here in northern IL.

And I don't farm 2000 acres and have acres of mowing to do just cleaning up around my property!!

Not to change the subject but curious I wonder what the total length of this GC1705 is with the loader? I have a 10'x5' trailer hope it fits?

Suspect will be close. I hauled my Bx1850 on a 10’ x 6’ trailer. What is the trailer axle rated for?
