62, a nice thunderstorm just passed through an hour ago, but then a nice window of time without rain let me feed the birds without getting wet. Drizzle now, going to 68 with more rain.

Nice job on those trees, Kilroy. Will you build there?

BEF, I know what you mean playing Tetris with your equipment. I've been doing that, too.

Sodamo, I've been in probably 10 TSCs...funny how different they can be...but always found 3 pt. stuff. Sorry yours was lacking.

My wife and I spent yesterday morning at the local garden center...huge place and picked up "just the right colors" flowers to replant the outdoors planters and oak barrel. Got some tomato and jalapeno plants. She is happy. I spent time just breathing in the sweet bouquet of the gardenia section while she shopped. We had them by our front door as a kid, and at the first house I ever bought...brings back great memories...never planted them here, because didn't think they were hardy enough, but saw one variety with a tag that said "down to 0F" but didn't pull the trigger, since $36 and I need to do some research.

Down to Zero...reminds me...anyone ever listen to Joan Armatrading? So good.

We are blessed. Thank you for asking. I am finding my body can't keep up with what my mind wants to do. This past week I've been on my feet a lot at work. Feet, all the way up to lower back are hurting. I told the wife, that if we had gone somewhere like a zoo, I would have had to stay in the car. I'm wondering if the Losartan I'm taking for BP is hurting my mobility? Seems to have come around since I've started taking it....

Feet feel better now, after a night's rest.
Glad you're feeling better.

It's 50º and foggy. Going to 80º by 1-2 pm. Weed spraying is on the agenda this am before the afternoon breeze come up. Stupid weed killer tripled in price in the last 2 years. Good thing this inflation is temporary.
I may never retire if the cost of everything keeps rising.
Mowed Mustard too tall as the hood on the MX too thick to walk through. Was slow going. Even with a mask on my eyes and sinus giving me fits.
Welded some chain hooks on the mower to make it easier to lift for sharpening. Third sharpening this season. Mower has gotten a workout.
Raked rocks from a neighbors arena. Hard to scoop them up. Seems I only get half the pile then it's shovel and rake work. Shoulder is a bit pissed off about that this am. Will try not to aggravate it any more today.
The wife's up time to get some coffee... have a great day whatever you do.

wngsprd I remember her unique voice and delivery - good stuff

Woke up to the sound of thunder, and a downpour. Started singing a song from 1976, not 1962.

Oldest son called about midnight. Another girl broke up with him. None of us understand why, he’s good kid, good looking, athletic and in shape, has good job. I just don’t know what to say. This at least 4th one since living in Nashville.

Waiting for the rest of the crew to get ready for worship.

Yes Danish pancakes are very similar. Made thin like the French crepes. Our kids loved them especially rolled up with Gooseberry jam inside
in the size of one large fluffy pancake, there were a whole lot of pancakes there. I could only eat half, save the rest for tomorrow.
very good with strawberry preserves but I thought more interesting with lingonberry preserve.
I wonder if the Ikea cafeteria serves them...

quality carbs for sure
no bread for me rest of day
my own lettuce is just about ready to be picked, have to eat more salads.
When I'd rather have a pot roast with three big pieces of home made bread.
which is why I'm 30 pounds overweight...

Good morning, 56 now which is about as warm as it gets today and ALL day rain.

Walked Cody and he got wet but shakes it off. Made coffee and got wife settled in easy chair with a cup of coffee.

Mowed a couple of hours yesterday including some of the tree planting areas. The cable between the battery and starter is dragging on the ground under the mower. Seems that mowing a slope the rear had dragged on the ground and broke it loose. Glad it did not short out.

Also restaked 30 tree shelters with 5 ft long oak stakes. Need to go up to the Menonite saw mill in PA and get a few hundred more to have on hand. The shoulder was getting better but the work out yesterday can be felt today. Surgery needs to be avoided. Agree with the doctor

A little teaser for Kil and his new X:

One of the kids when growing up loved the Danish pancakes and got very good at making them. He would make huge stacks of them to share with the family using milk from the French Alpine goats that another kid milked.

Good Morning
50 degrees, overcast and damp. Not raining at the moment. We’ve gotten 1-3/4” since Friday, and it’s not over yet.
Low energy day yesterday, helped son install an underground subwoofer for the sound system at the pool, tinkered in the shop a bit.
Today won’t be much different, although I never know what will pop up.

To be clear, those were cherry blossoms caked on the car tires from diving into the garage. The cherry tree shades the driveway in front of the garage and is stunning when it’s in bloom. Very messy when the blooms fall.

The green colors of the new leaves are alway amazing in the spring. The River Birches and the big Pecan tree looks great in the rain.

0.13" of rain fell overnight and it was a foggy, drizzly, misty 42ºF for this morning's low temperature. It is currently 45ºF and I expect these conditions to continue through the afternoon with a high temperature in the low to mid50ºF's and rain starting tonight and continuing in some fashion through this coming workweek; but the weather pattern improves this coming weekend.

Good morning! Low of 44°, heading towards 78°. Sunny, light winds. No chance of precip until midweek.

Definitely falling behind in the precipitation totals. Down about 2" already from normal average. Hope the cycle breaks soon...... I'm envious of all the greenery shown in the pics.....

Good progress on the planter project. One completed for
"QA inspection"..... wifey said it was far better than what she was envisioning. I'm glad because the other 5 are already cut, just need assembly. No changing design now....

They will still need the locations "prepped and leveled", then secured. Of course then they have to be filled.... and the trees planted. Then start on the 3 free-standing planters / raised beds.

Pics will follow.....

Time to head out to the shop......

Morning all, 46 going up to 60 and heavy rains.
Gave the dog a bath yesterday and for drinks/appetizers we ended up at a new mediteranian place in Newtown called Ardana.
We got some good drinks, some Hummus and some grilled Octopus.
Octopus seemed more pan fried than Grilled, but both dishes were really tasty.

Loved the look on the ladies face one bar stool over when she saw tentacles.

Another ash fell on the other side of the road, gather that neighbor is going to be busy when the rain clears up. He is a bit unstable so I only deal with him through email if I can help it.

Mostly, nice light lunch for a bike ride :) sounds like fun. I miss the big group rides. Maybe will see if I can start again after next dr. appointment.

We have had quite a few inches of rain. at least 3 in the gauge.
Son is off on a date today, will see how this one goes.

Be well,

Woods are starting to look very, very green. Some of the invasives have already extended 4-5 feet towards the driveway. This is the view looking at my neighbors forest from my front lawn. Polesaw will get a workout if this rain ever stops.

One of the kids when growing up loved the Danish pancakes and got very good at making them. He would make huge stacks of them to share with the family using milk from the French Alpine goats that another kid milked.
Raising kids in a large family was always something that took work and the kids were participating in household chores based on age and ability. We had two washers and two dryers running and kids were doing the folding and putting away the clothes. No-one ever knew why we had small socks mixed in with large socks and other mishaps So we set up a sock person and tee shirt person etc to learn about accountability and responsibility and the quality of folding clothes improved dramatically. Not unlike what I did at work to hold people accountable for their work

drip drip drip keeps on raining, raining pretty hard actually right now

spent an hour online with Home Depot's counter top ordering estimator, my tiny kitchen comes in at the 950 minimum for laminate.
Least expensive hard surface, very thin, 1350 and decent hard surface 2000. Going with fake marble laminate, no drip rounded lip and 4 inch
back splash. Carpenter hired was going to sub out the countertop construction to a third party, unknown. I needed to find a baseline price
for landlady so she knew up front what was reasonable. Since money spent in kitchens and bathrooms usually has decent market value return,
seems like a sensible investment for owner. The problem is most of the contractors around here are used to putting in 50K kitchens, or more.
They don't want to fool around with something this small. Current laminate counter tops have 40+ years on them and are chipped in several places.

if I could be really flexible on color choice, could get end lot marble or something nice for same price. If it were my house, I'd be out shopping for closeouts.

time to get laundry out of dryer then maybe a soak in hot tub
