Good morning!!!!

When I got the 2016 camry they told me towing a trailer would void the warranty. I wonder if that is because it was a hybrid or if the new ones are just better?

Can’t speak to the old one, but I did quench the new one after silver brazing it and heating it red hot.
How did it break. Maybe the chain bar hold down screw was not tightened well enough. It is done by hand but has to be tight enough to not allow the bar to slide

Good morning.
55 with the sun showing through the fog. High in the 70’s with a good chance of rain this evening.

Yesterday started with a trip to the UPS store to drop off Verizon’s equipment. That worked well, they scanned it in, boxed it and gave me e receipt. Just like Verizon said they would, but I was skeptical. Zoe came along for the ride, we visited my daughter and her dogs, and then stopped at the airport to expose her to more people and things.
Did some paperwork exercise and then had to go change an exhaust fan motor on the roof of the restaurant.

Today I’ve got to get customs paperwork in order for Saturday’s trip to Marsh Harbour. Tomorrow is a pickup in Palm Beach, so I want to have all the passport info in hand today.

I would like to pull the Lazer Z out of the back of the shop and give it a quick once over to make sure it’s ready for mowing season, but not much else planned.

SIL came over late yest to finish up the second shop window. Blustery, windy and cold. Got it done just as a group of 12 deer came by. No pics of them, but he took this shot as he was leaving. I like the temp forecast: 40 Wed, 50 Thurs, 60 Fri, 65 Easter Sun, 70's next week. It's about time...

Good morning! Low was down to 14°.... plants not liking it much.... but, the high temp should be 64° and sunny. Light breezes. Tonight should be the last temp below freezing (28°) in the 10 day. We all know that is subject to extreme change.....

RNG, CONGRATS, a great deal was apparently to be had! Looks very nice!

The first time I ever accepted an extended warranty was for a used 2007 VW bug..... I had talked them down on it, so not too bad, something like $5 a month added. The car was 4 years old, but only had 18K miles ---- basically hardly used.
In our first year of ownership, it had over $8K in repairs at the dealer, costing us $300. It was worth it to have the coverage. We sold the car at about 14 months, so got most of the coverage balance refunded.

Then, I was running scared.... so on the 2014 Nissan I added the coverage.... it expired without a single claim. We still have the car and haven't made a repair yet!

Then, on the travel trailer (2015), I added the coverage... that also expired without a claim....
I have come back to my senses now......

Drew, glad the school meeting went well! I am seeing firsthand the mistakes that schools / teachers can do .... The grandkids never fail to amaze me with the stories about school. They implement "programs" without thinking of the final end result.

Costco run today, hope I get off easy.
I may not get to spread that gravel until later.....

Everyone have a great day!

Morning, 56 going up to 79 and sunny
Just did general cleanup and bush unwrapping yesterday.
Another work friend let go.
Another work friends wife passed away (cancer). Was a really sad day.

RNG - congrats on the new car. When buying my wife's used BMW, they tried to sell us runflat tire insurance for only $3000 for 4 years. When I pointed out I could buy more than 10 tires for that price, they just shrugged.

Whole herd of deer moved through when walking dog this morning, stopped counting after a bit, so many, get the feeling traffic around here is going to be mostly deer.

Rain looks like it starts at 5, so may not get anything done.

Trying to find new projects at work so I can keep going, seems like it's going to be a while before I can retire.

Drew, around this weekend off/on if you need help with RV power trouble shooting.

Be well,

That confused look

Declined warranty extension on the F350 at time of purchase but added it later from online Ford dealer at half the cost. Never used it. Had a couple of minor recalls was all except normal maintenance

Most of all it gets down to treating others nicely
[/B]

Yes, I like to say all people should just treat all people as people.
Would solve a lot of problems.

Glad you got back home safe Drew. I drove some of the same route and thought what it would be like driving a motor home on those roads. Just couple bad places, like north of charlotte, and statesville construction. Most of I77 was pretty good road. Traffic on I81 lighter than weekends.

Crimson clover in bloom along the SC interstates, very pretty.

My yard needs mowed. Got bills paid. Rain coming. Got up an hour early because my clock changes with the old DST change. Pebbles enjoying my lap. Loves the chin rubbing.

46F and cloudy @ 10:00, heading up to around 51F for the day's high.

Woman fried me up some Ocean Perch for dinner last night and I finished off some rice pilaf from the other day as well. Was quite tasty, although it had quite the fishy smell before it was cooked. She was squeaking the entire time (She doesn't like fish much)

After that I followed Ted's lead and watched Nature and Nova on PBS but couldn't keep my eyes open for Secrets of the Dead.

Eventually woke up around the end of that, just as The Woman was heading to bed.

Forced myself to get up and head up to the shop, got the fire going again, and flipped the saw base and sprayed 6 or 7 coats on it:

Then started working on the electrical box and on/off paddle switch. Drilled and tapped the cover plate for the box to mount the switch and its cover.

Eventually came to the conclusion that the cover plate for the box needed to be cut out to accommodate the switch so I brought it all down to the house and carved on it out in the garage for a while with the jig saw.

But not before I finished off the Parmesan Chicken from the other night and chased it with a Thomas' English Muffin with peanut butter and honey and a glass of milk.

Turned out ok:

It will be used with a two wire, low voltage line to the VFD to turn the saw motor on and off.

Separate switch to turn the 220v power to the VFD on and off (robbed off the neighbor's old router table I was given)

Just came down from the shop, temp was 78F when I got up there and the wood in the stove was all gone so I loaded it up again and got it going good and then banked it down.

Need to order a few saw parts from Renovo then probably work on gathering info for taxes.

In the "other good news" department, budget amount for electric bill has dropped to about half of what it was 4 months ago and we are ahead with a credit balance currently. Also homeowners insurance bill dropped by $500 (it had gone up by $500 last year, presumably due to the pandemic)

Hope everyone has a great Thursday ... (y)

Good morning, the high today might get to 32°F. Wind WSW 20 gusting to 34 mph. 30 % chance of flurries.

The drive home was a car washing gully washer. Freezing rain at home, but I wasn't here.

I actually got up at 7 this morning, spent 2.5 hours on a module for the company regarding cyber security and didn't finish it because it froze EVERY time I tried go advance on it. Total time (to be 'banked') 22.5 hours between the start up meetings, + 4 hours yesterday getting their I-pad working right (which it still isnt) and the 2.5 this morning. The good thing is that I don't need to mess with it until Monday. Now I can get my blood pressure back down to normal with some tractor therapy this morning. I told the girl/lady that does our time that because I don't collect unemployment insurance she could pay me straight through, she told me that because of the Canuckistan employment rules (if you are off for 5 consecutive working days unless sick with Dr.s note then the company has to lay you off) if she paid me this week then she would have to lay me off until I came back to work in two months time. It makes for a colossal nightmare for the office staff. I know what she means, been there, done that.
So the cybersecurity training that was supposed to be done in 30 minutes or I wouldn't have access to emails took 2.5 hours today and I still haven't finished it. I guess I can't do email through the company email system. Well boo hoo! As if I give a rats behind. My job requires me to drive the truck and deliver the product and that last I checked I don't need email to drive a truck.
IF I have to take the Ipad to IT for them to fix it, that will cost them 4 hours driving time each way plus the time I waste at IT while they mess with it. Lets see now, 4 hours each way at $32.76/hour pus 80 cents/kilometer ($1.30/mile) times 345 miles= $448.50 + (32.76x8hrs)=$262.08 Plus the 448.50 = $710.58. I could handle that for a special trip to Markham to fix this Ipad. There wouldn't be any withholding tax on that because I would bill it all through my company (subcontractor) B.S. Enterprises.
I think you guys are smart enough to figure out what the B.S. stands for besides the initials being mine. lol

I just got off the phone with the bank and Uncle Justin just gave me my income tax rebate, Just-in-time. lol

Things to do today, check lottery numbers, a couple of hours tractor time, dump run and nothing after that.

Drew, If you have access to compressed air or a heat gun or hair dryer, you could either blow out the outside outlet or slam the heat to it. Or if you really don't need that outlet just shut the breaker off to it and forget about it.

When I was in HS, I wasn't the fastest in CC, but on halloween night I could out run the cops to the place where I could out smart them.
1/2 built houses with with the sub floors in but not back filled yet, run across the plank bridging the cut to the sub floor and let the cop follow me, run off the other side and kick that plank into the cut and run aroud the the first side and kick that plank into the cut. The cop is now stranded on the house with no way to get off unless he didn't mind getting dirty. In those days there was no radio other than the one in the cop car. No cell phones either. This was all done after dark. House construction sites were a hoot.

You guys have a safe day
