You need not delete it because some folks are a bit sensitive; plenty of us found it amusing, as it's just a meme.
If some semi obnoxious, sarcastic, humorous things weren't posted this would be a boring forum. Question: was that a meme cause I still don't grasp what modern internet lingo is. Lol

And such is so rare you had to find an old fuzzy picture from Europe to promote the fiction.

Oh, okay.

Here's your private roadside assistance for EV's.

Here is an article promoting RA charging.

EV manufacturers include portable charging as part of the RA programs they offer.

But yeah, these things are so rare, they're almost fiction.

Kind of a towing/hauling wrong picture……saw it today on an overpass over 81 in PA. No idea how he did it, but it looks like he backed the trailer over the edge of the overpass based on the tire tracks. I guess he has to work on his backing skills some more…..

That sure is an oops. 🤣

I found the thread about EV and robotic (AI?) tractors rather educational. I didn’t know that autonomous mowers, weeders and pickers even existed. Technology is moving quickly. Some of it is fascinating.

.

Oh absolutely, there's a lot of information in both threads, you just have to go swimming. Lol.

What happened on this thread was my fault. Being the Hauling & Towing thread, I thought it would be funny to post a pic of a gas powered service van towing a diesel powered gen-set that was charging a dead EV. It turned out to be offensive, so was quickly deleted. :)

Oh no worries, it was well within the scope of the thread, some people just can't joke about themselves or the things they hold dear.

I, myself, am a walking, talking joke, and even I get a little out of shape now and again.

My objective is to promote humor. :) I suspect, based on your profile name, you may not understand that concept? Since I’ve offended you, I apologize and will delete the offensive post.(y) If there are any others, please let me know and I will address those as well.
Never give in just because someone is offended. They have the problem, not you.

I’m not at all offended. I‘m amused by people who think charging an EV beside the road is funny, how they think that is any different from filling a car with a gas can.

By and large for an EV in the USA a flatbed tow truck is dispatched in such situations. Is cheaper and faster. A mobile charger will get used once every few months, will never pay for itself. That is why all the pictures of such are so old.

Yup, so rare you have to cite news articles and not actual implementations.

EDN is a trade magazine promoting things companies say they are doing, but often never do because demand does not support.

Did you bother to read the Tesla citation? No portable charging mentioned. Some Tesla service centers have pickup trucks with flatbed car trailers to pick up and deliver cars. Mine now uses private flatbed towing companies. No different from any ICE dealer.

Ford doesn’t yet know what they are doing. Same as the EV market 5-10 years ago. All towing companies acted as if they were going to have to provide mobile charging services. None are today. Got wise, much faster and cheaper for the EV to tow to a fixed charger than to invest in a rarely used mobile charger and tie up driver and truck for an extended time.

If you can't see "how they think that is any different from filling a car with a gas can", I'm surprised.

Look at the tire tracks. Could possibly have gone up that embankment.
