Good morning!!!!

Good morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

68.2°F (see, I can hang out with the cool kids!)going up to upper 70s later. Waiting for the next couple of frosts to kill everything…

I bought a maple tapping kit, but really don’t have any maple trees. I tapped some black walnut trees and got about a half-gallon of sap before it got warm. Last night I cooked it down and got about 3 ounces of actual syrup!

Mrs was quite surprised at how good it was (she is very dubious of most of my ventures, in spite of a reasonably low rate of failure 🤪), and I will likely be ordering more tapping equipment for next season. The current heat wave is screwing with sap collection, as we are not dipping below freezing overnight, which is necessary to get the tree to pump more sap.

Mrs just informed me that they syrup is even better this morning now that it is cold. It is quite yummy!

anyway, dog. Is being very clingy this morning, I need to give her some attention.

I hope everyone has a happy healthy wonderful blessed day!

No big deal - Mrs and I survived over two decades of gummint employment in NJ - this ain’t $#1+ 😂🤣😂 it is actually prettty funny watching who is sucking up, who is hiding - and who is “out sick with a COVID RELAPSE” conveniently this week. . . We are only temps, we really do not “NEED” this job, it is a nice break from winter monotony that is sortakinda like being paid to do a combination of crosswords and Suduko for several hours a day…

good morning all
one day heat wave, going up to 62 today
I think that will mean some spring flowers blooming.
I see the rose bushes pushing out buds and the forsythia too.

not much planned today other than having lunch with a friend who used to be my employee, and partner's son, at the insurance
agency. His family sold the agency a few years after I left, guess they could not handle it, had grown pretty large. I left due to the stress of
having to fire a friend I hired to do the sales work. He turned out to be unreliable, and when my partner and I found out he was running around on his
wife and baby daughter, we both just shook our head and said that's enough. I wish I had known back then I suffered from depression at times, if I had gotten help,
might still be running town's largest agency. Didn't learn/understand until later on, and thankfully learned how to deal with it without any meds.
However the change enabled other good things, like running the town's Radio Shack for five years. Now that was fun and folks left with a smile.

I also learned early on that big bucks was not always worth it, need to manage stress in life, no sense if you are rich and sick.

got a notice the rv air cleaner I ordered, the better one, is running weeks late, so I'm going to install the other new one I bought. Will take a pic
of the one in there, seriously nasty dirty filter. Hope the engine runs a little better now.

PJ, prayers sent for your family and hope your wife is ok. Happy wife, happy life, all affects you too.

Good morning, the low temp is 6 and going to a high of 14°F. Wind NE 13 gusting to 22 mph. Snow ending near midnight. About 4" or so.

I will go and plow the neighbours at about 3 P.M., that should hold them until I get back from the dump/town run on Friday.

Condolences to the Smith family.

Have a safe day all

46 outside this AM, heading to 80 today. Yep...I wrote 80.

Nothing much accomplished these last few days, I did manage to walk around the house yesterday and I spotted some daffodils that bloomed. Beautiful.

PJ so sorry to hear of the multiple family losses. Condolences your way.

Hope all have a good day. Be safe, get or stay healthy.

daugen, a dirty air filter will filter better than a clean one, but will make your engine work harder for the air it gets. It is a trade off, which do you want? Cleaner air going into the engine or better fuel mileage. Personally, I go for the better mileage. If I was in your boots, I would research K&N filters. Last filter you will ever buy. You just wash and re-oil them, Amazon has them.https://www.amazon.com/engine-filte...-----1&vehicleName=2019+Ford+F-350+Super+Duty

thanks Bill. The better of the two air filters comes lightly oiled, just like the K&Ns. K&N for this truck is four times cost of regular "good" filter.
I doubt I'll use up one air filter, much less two in the time I have this rv.
Under part throttle I hear a strange whistling, am curious if that will continue with new filter.

seems like State of Florida is getting serious about Left Lane Louises. When I lived down there, I was told by a number of seniors that they drive in the far left lane
because they can't see very well and they can judge their distance from the center median easier than the far right side. Sigh......sure messes up traffic.

When we got our F150 new back in 2016, one of the first things I did was order a K&N filter/intake system, which replaced the factory intake pipe with a more efficiently designed piece and a washable filter. It was good for about 1.5 MPG improvement (I did a 3-month baseline and I keep a vehicle log) and it took about 8 months to pay for itself. No computer or equipment changes, just swap out a piece (or two) of plastic for better Pieces of plastic.

I should wash my filter again soon. . .

65 and breezy, going to 83. A predicted record high. I like it cold, but it was nice out feeding the birds this morning without a jacket and gloves.

Sorry so much sadness, PJ. Prayers said.

Kilroy, I'd love to taste that syrup. Nice job. We have a couple of black walnuts, some sugar maples and lots of red maples, but I've never tapped them...didn't think I'd get enough to risk harming them.

LS, glad that wind didn't hit you too badly.

We got about a tenth of an inch of rain yesterday, but dried quickly, so I took the zero turn out for a spin...Mowed a couple of food plots for about an hour...cutting winter-dried stalks of cowpeas and buckwheat so the clover underneath can get more light...it is really starting to green-up.
