Good morning! 43° partly sunny. Drizzled this morning. Supposed to get to 47° later. Then warmer next couple of days.

That actually does work on the iPad to get the ° symbol…..thanks!

Not sure what today will bring. Take it as I find something to get into.

Wife finally sold the old claw foot tub we took out of the upstairs bathroom. Woman who bought it said she had a full size van, showed up with an old Dodge mini-van. Tub wouldn’t fit thru the side door like she wanted to load it. Had to go thru the rear. I was using the boom pole on the tractor to lift it. Made me nervous, but got it loaded with no damage to the van.

Everyone stay safe out there

That's civil SERVICE. The good and dedicated get to work their butt off. And with modern communications people who need things DONE end up taking advantage of them.
And things get done.
Hope she is getting rewards and promotions.
Newbury, you clearly understand this.
You must have some experience in this arena. Thanks

Good Morning!!!! 48F @ 7:00AM. Partly cloudy. Gusty winds during the afternoon. High around 60F. Winds SW at 10 to 15 mph, becoming NW and increasing to 20 to 30 mph. Higher wind gusts possible.

Was going to get a burn pile started, then feed it the rest of the day, but the wind made that a bad idea. Last night the weatherman said snow is likely here starting Wednesday through the weekend, but WU never got the memo. It will at least be wet, though. And we could use some rain, both for the plants, and so I can get some inside chores done.

Nice trip down to SoCal and back over the weekend. Toured a couple houses, one with a huge back yard but no way to get to it other than through the house. Just need to keep looking, and more and more listings pop up every day.

No problems, other than traffic on the way down. New o-ring washers stopped the drain pan leak. Wait one; the driver side seat belt latch has become a 50/50 proposition. Maybe it's sticking, so will try some light oil on it. But at 200K miles, it probably needs replaced.

Stopped at the Indian casino south of here to refuel on the way home, but got chewed out by the attendant for using the exit to enter and jumping the line. That's odd, I didn't see a single sign. It was worth it, though. I fueled up yesterday morning at $5.55/gallon, and the casino price was $4.10. That's almost $35 that didn't make it to the tax man.

While I was away I did get another insurance payment what will cover the engineering work for the chimney repairs, so that'll get started this week. Have to get that approved by the building department before any actual work starts, though. Still haven't seen a new roof tile to compare to the existing tiles, but I put coming up with one back into the insurance adjuster's hands. I'll keep working my local supplier, too. Maybe one or the other will pan out.

If not today then maybe on Thursday.

There is a soft spot in my head for the Clydesdales, we had them at the farm. Kinda brought a tear to my eyes when the horse went down and couldn't get up. So happy when it eventually got up.

BEF, you cat is making a game out of it. He thinks he has outsmarted you. Can you cut the board you have blocking him so that it fits around the vent?
It’s coming down pretty good now, and another whack coming on Thursday. Should be fun!

good morning all
39 going up to 53, rain has just left the area, weather station says .19 inches

going to be a busy day. After having not one but two electricians not return phone calls, or calling out sick and never returning, after almost three months
I have someone coming today to install new kitchen lights, bathroom fan, etc. Found a place in Levittown, 45 minutes South of here, so looks like an expensive travel
bill. There are just no electricians left in my area, most have retired and their kids, if any, didn't take over the business.
This means moving a lot of kitchen stuff, have to clear the counters for new under cabinet lights. All old flickering fluorescents being replaced by LED. Finally.
And they said, we can be there tomorrow. Almost too good to be true. They have a nice website and a big fleet of trucks, so I'm hopeful.

I had hoped to take my first rv trip down to DE to visit my friend, but both he and his wife are sick with the lung crud. And now another close lady friend in Doylestown just tested
positive for covid and feels miserable. She goes to the gym every morning and I bet that's where she got it. Too many sick folks out there.
Plans are a trip to DE, then in late March head down to Florida to visit friends, stopping in Washington NC on the way. Going to come down 81 with first rv site in Staunton VA.
On way back, need to figure out way to find Buppies, Riptides and BEF to say hello. That might be another trip, but anything to keep me far from Route 95 is desirable.

My new rv tv shows up today, hopefully in one piece from Crutchfield. They were exactly the same price as Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart, shows how there is a little price control here..., or maybe just tough competition, but I like Crutchfield, have bought from them almost 30 years now, so wanted to keep on their mailing list. Their catalogs make great bathroom reading for
an electronics person. Wish a larger tv would fit, but a 32 4k OLED Samsung was same size as current one, and next size up, 43, just too big for opening. And while I never buy extended warranties, I sure did for this tv. Rvs and boats shake the heck out of electronics, always good to have a longer warranty. Particularly since no one repairs these things any more.
The tv in there now is a $169 no name 720p, just awful. 4k really is a spoiler, have 8k on my pc monitor and boy is that fun to look at, when you can find something to watch.

have a safe and fun day
Finding contractors when living out in the county can sometimes be difficult. When we moved here we had the same difficulties until someone local said we were OK to work for and we paid our bills. After that no more problems finding anyone. Out here you were a foreigner unless your family had lived here for generations

Yes, that is next step, when I feel better. This is the hole he’s jumping up into. Just need to notch the board.

46F and cloudy @ 10:00, looks like there could be some rain in the area. Only heading up to around 49F for the high today.

Did manage to get a shave and shower before The Woman got back last night ... barely.

She broiled up a huge cod fillet and made some rice pilaf to go along with it - the fish was cooked perfectly. She typically doesn't eat fish and generally has a low confidence on being able to cook it correctly but She did great with it. Was all quite tasty and was so much that I could only eat about half of it.

Only downside was I had been having stomach issues starting earlier in the day and by the time 23:00 rolled around I was experiencing enough discomfort that I started sucking down antacid tablets. Pretty unusual for me.

Sleep initially did not go real well: I woke up around 01:00 in pain and then again at some later point. Really had me wondering what was going on.

Getting up this morning things seem pretty much back to normal though ... (y)

Needless to say I didn't get anything done last night after shower and dinner.

Woman was successful in picking up my item at Harbor Freight - Mini Brass Plane Set:

Screen Shot 2023-02-21 at 10.39.00.png

... but She had to go to the Canton store to do it which was fine because She was headed down there anyways to do Her returns.

Agenda for today will include getting my ears lowered and eyebrows trimmed.

Then I need to run over to the lab and get some blood drawn for lab work.

Get that last bracket for the shelf over the pegboard put up.

Trim pegboard to length for the sanding table.

Get the pieces cut for the Stumpy Nubs blast gate manifold. It's supposed to be a triple inlet unit but I think I'll modify it to four. The leftover hardboard from the sanding table baffles will get used for the actual gates.

Figure out how much plywood is needed for the cabinetry on the woodworking bench and router table and get that ordered.

High temp on Thursday is supposed to be around 71F ... so that would probably be a good day to get that picked up and unloaded and/or cut up.

Last item for the day will be to get a coat of poly put on one side of the shelf so I'm not out there making dust while it's trying to dry.

Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday ... (y)

Good morning! Low of 28°, headed up to 52° today. Rain showers this evening, then periods of rain around midnight, changing to snow by morning. Then a greater chance of snow tomorrow, high only going to 32°.

Unfortunately, the wind will be returning with a vengeance----- could have gusts as high as 65mph here, up to 80mph on the mountain peaks.

Our road is a mess! Mud, mud, everywhere...... I know why it's in the state that it's in.... by the cause of two idiot neighbors, doing things that they "think" will help with drainage. But now they are proven wrong.....
There is no reasoning with Bubba 1 and Bubba 2......

A question for you Texas guys:
How is the Centerville area? Looking at some land about 15 minutes outside of the town, off I-45. Supposed to be heavily wooded and multiple creeks. I still need to get more specific info about the subdivision, but they "can't" send me a subdivision plan..... I think it's more like "won't"..... it seems they really, really want a potential buyer to actually visit the site. Maybe for some high pressure sales pitch?

The video of the Clydesdales was scary at first. Glad the last horse was ok. I guess that was the literal meaning of "pile up".....

Going to make a run to Costco for fuel and a few items. I hope the list stays small....

I hope everyone's day goes as expected.

RNG if the recession that the country seems to be trying to talk itself into hits real estate should get cheaper. Roll the dice.
