We have no shortage of deer here. They have little fear of us humans or dogs, but generally graze in the fields and hedgerows rather than shrubs around the house. This was about two hours ago.

Good evening all. 28ºF for the start, partly cloudy light breeze. Moderate wind, sky clouded up the started clearing off, and high temp was 49ºF, forecast was for 55ºF. Bike to start morning, front tire was losing air near end of ride, did make to driveway. 2 hr nap after lunch and took wife to daughter's church Valentines dinner. Quiz show based on Newly Wed show and trio (2 guitar and bass) sang several songs.

Today was around 50-55 with a very light occasional breeze. Plenty of sunshine.

Spent all day doing final trimming, piling and stacking of limbs at the curb from the recent ice storm. Took the opportunity to do a general trimming of most of the trees in the yard. Burned a small pile of small limbs/branches

Actually picked up some nice chunks for the wood stove in a year or so after it drys out.

Coffee is done brewing. 32° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 49° with mix of sun and clouds. It was a good day to burn papers yesterday. Got fire pit out and burned all the old papers. Stayed away from trees until ice melted off. There was chunks of ice falling off until mid afternoon. Picked up broken limbs and trimmed more trees. Got a good size pile that needs to be run through chipper. Maybe later this week. Clean up fire pit and put it away. Then watch NASCAR in afternoon.
Waiting for snow and ice to melt. It was all gone in afternoon.

Finished splitting my last load of firewood...splitter started up after only a couple of pulls. So, after that good luck, I thought I'd try starting the blade trimmer...it's old, and I hadn't used it since last spring...I pulled enough times to need some ibuprofen and a hot shower...no luck. I told it, that if you'll start, I promise I'll only put the canned pre-mix in from now on. I'll work on it today.

Good morning. 45 degrees now headed to 72 degrees forecast! As soon as light, feed cattle and get ready for the pork steak take-out benefit for the local VFD. Hopefully, get a chance later to Spray in yard area. The Henbit and other weeds are pretty bad this year. Seems every year there is a different weed that becomes prominent. This year, there is a lot of thistles and curly dock up.
Hope the Thistles I am seeing in the yard are not in the pastures! Some years they go crazy. Hard for me to spray them because I don't have enough time to spray them this early and spray other weeds later in Spring.
